I lost with KK yesterday twice to flopped trips in a matter of 5 minutes. It was plain to me I sucked at poker during that time. However early in the evening I caught a river straight to beat villians set, I was a awesome player during that hand - of course the previous hand same villian outkicked me on trip Jacks so my poker skillz changes dramatically every hand.

How do you know if you're playing well?
Review your session. Explicitly state your reasons for each action and double check your pot odds + implied odds vs weighted outs. Pick something you're not doing very well or think you're very good at, then actively search for posts that deal with similar concepts and jump into the conversation. Ask questions and/or argue your side (if you're in disagreement) until you're comfortable that you know the "correct" course of action. You're playing well when your current understanding of the game is accurately reflected in your play over a given stretch of hands. Nothing more, nothing less.
