English papers are reporting that John Terry is threatening to quit Chelsea. According to The Sun he was expecting a 9 year contract worth 130k/week. But Chelsea is only offering 5 years with a slight raise over 90k.

In other Chelsea news, Roman Abramovich ranks #16 in the annual Forbes list of billionaires. http://www.forbes.com/lists/2007/10/...vich_DG3G.html
Guess he can't afford Terry.

Lampard also has so far failed to sign a new contract. He was offered 100K a week. So far all the presence of "Ballack" who is on 150K has achieved is to unsettle two of our much more important players.I dont often notice his presence any where else.

I can imagine being payed 50K a week less than the Invisible man(1) is deeply galling.

(1)(xcept of course for that goal against Porto. That said I would expect any player X that we were paying 150K a week to get a goal now and then.Maybe also break a sweat and kick the ball more than once each half .)

Why? I want Chelsea to win, but not at the expense of all other teams being crap. I want to watch good football, that requires that the best players in the world play in the EPL.

I suppose if you watch football from everywhere this is not an issue.

Both have stated they would love to keep working with Mourinho, even in other clubs. So has Drogba.

watching Chelsea play is like watching paint dry, however I agree with you. The EPL is the best league and is likely going to stay that way, but you need the best players and coaches to maintain that.

I am just rooting against you guys. But there does appear to be some rumors that Lampard and Mourinho are headed to Madrid.

[/ QUOTE ]I have been reading a fairly interesting debate about a Gilberto-less midfield. The common opinion is that he doesn't add enough offensively, in particular against defensive teams. I wouldn't be suprised to see our MF heavily consisting of Cesc, Denilson, and Diaby next year. Gilberto should be content with being a sub.

I expect a Rosicky-Fabregas-Diaby/Denilson-Walcott midfield for a lot of next year
