They won 67 games in the regular season, 6th best in league history... that's not cocky that's what they should be saying geezus what are you talking about dude.

Am I the only one that doesn't think GS will handle Houston very well? Jeff Van Gundy loves to slow the pace down and I just don't think that the Warriors will be able to play at such a frantic speed.

Houston will zone up on D, they'll force feed the ball inside, and they will likely only send one or two guys to the offensive glass so that they don't get fast-breaked to death. Dallas's main problem IMO was that they are very perimeter oriented and they were susceptible to getting caught up in a up and down race.

I'm not saying that GS wouldn't have a chance or anything, but I don't think they match up nearly as well as they do with Dallas.

biggest problem for Dallas: not attacking the rim.

[/ QUOTE ]

Dallas offensive gameplan... really surprised. My buddies and I got together to watch (who wasn't excited for this game?!) - we weren't particularly partial to Dallas and we were all screaming for someone to drive to the hoop, get fouled, make *something* happen it was just bizarre to watch such a great team, with so many weapons, stand around and take contested jumpers.

I think I read if they lose tonight, Cuban isn't going to gut the team or anything... and really what the hell do you do to improve a 67-win team?

Bring back Rolando Blackman, Mark Aguirre and Bill Wennington.

Taraz - Dallas had slower pace than Houston over the regular season (Mavs were 28th slowest pace, Rockets were 22nd).

That being said I'm not sure who matches up better with GS, though my gut says Utah would have to look at more stats / think about it some more before deciding.

wow this is just embarrassing for dirk. he's a star player, but i guess not the type that can carry a team on his book. i think the mavs need to blow up their lineup and bring an all star to compliment dirk.

[/ QUOTE ]

overreact much? This is the same team that was one 4th quarter collapse away from going up 3-0 in the NBA Finals last year.

[/ QUOTE ]

Down almost 0-3...why did Miami win..who sparked them and who took over...same as in the Det series....

WADE.

That is what superstars do.

[/ QUOTE ]

Dude, you're doing the exact same thing as you did in the other thread- changing the topic to weird points that we're not even discussing.

Somebody said that Dallas should blow up their lineup and rebuild. I said that was a bad idea since they were so close to winning it just last year. I'm not sure what Wade or him being a superstar really has anything to do with it.

[/ QUOTE ]

Assani...I thought u were responding to the bolded part

n the other thread i as just teasing JofA

[/ QUOTE ]

ah ok, nevermind then

Taraz, I think GS would have better match up advantages against Houston.

I think in reality, they're about as talented as a 60 win team, which is still incredible. They won a LOT of close games. Which makes me wonder, actually. If they had the wherewithal to stick it through a lot of close ones, how come they failed so miserably in the playoffs?

Here's how they improve the team:

1. Dirk: develop a semi-decent post game. Learn how to attack the rim. Bang AK47's wife.
2. Get Stack the ball. Toughest guy on the team.
3. Harris: stop pulling up (cuz you probably travel anyway). Attack the rim. Kick to one of 3 deep range threats.
4. Howard: keep doing like you doing. Don't disappear in the 4th. Kick Dirk in the nuts.

Disagree. GS just doesn't give a [censored] at this point. They really have NO answer for TMAC... so what? If GS pushes the pace (and Nellie has proven a master of controlling tempo), who is HOU's answer for EVERY SINGLE GS PLAYER?

KC - a buddy of mine brought up the fact that Dallas had a relatively low margin of victory vs. PHX and San Antonio... but just looked at regular season stats, DAL was 3rd (+7.2) vs PHX (+7.3) and Spurs (+8.4). I didn't watch Dallas alot this season but that seems pretty dominant...

I thought he had solved this and he did alot more of this this season (not sure about AK's wife tho)... guess not?
