There is a downloadable IRS form you give to the casino that shows who else gets a piece of the winnings (you fill out their socials, etc) and that form is forwarded to the IRS. Thus, you pay taxes only on the percentage you actually receive and the IRS checks the other people's returns to ensure they pay on the amount you said they get. I THINK.

am I wrong or did Party Poker guarantee a 10 million dollar prize pool for this tourney like a year ago. I swear I thought this was true.
