[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] So Tony is a Boss, but not the boss of bosses. That makes sense, he has to kick up to Johny Sack I assume? One thing really confused me, who kicked the bucket in the Fed's car? Wasn't that Carmine Lupertazi? I thought he died already... Carmine was the Boss of the Brookyn Crew who Johny Sack took over. TT [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] [/ QUOTE ] No, tony doesnt kick up to anyone. What I listed was a break down from each family. Ie, you have a jersey family, the five families in New York, ther is a Kansas City familiy, etc. The capo di tuti, kicks up to no one, but he does negotiate the splits of any shared turf with any other capo di tuti's, ie if you have a constuction bid, where you hold the keys to the union, but the job is in another guys turf, you split the profit. That wasnt Carmine he is dead. [/ QUOTE ] Tony is a "boss" - While he is labeled the "acting boss", that is a courtesy to Junior, who nominally held the position, but was incapable of effectively performing the role - the Family "understands" this arrangement. As "boss", Tony is the the head of the crime Family; he is the only one who gives permission to "whack" or "make" someone, and he makes money from all Family operations. The "Capo di tutti capi" is the boss of bosses - when the families united in the '50's, this was a real position. While no one proclaims himself the Boss of Bosses anymore, the press awards this title to whomever they feel is the boss of the strongest of the five Families of New York, who is also said to preside over "Commision" meetings. The "Consigliere" is the counselor in a crime Family; he advises the boss and handles disputes within the ranks. A "Capo" is a ranking member of a Family who heads a "crew" (or group) of soldiers; a skipper, short for "capodecina". A "Friend of ours" is a term of introduction of one made member to another. A "Friend of mine" is a term of introduction of a third person who is not a member of the Family but who can be vouched for by a Family member. |

[ QUOTE ]
Just in case nobody has mentioned this, the guy playing Paulie has it in his contract with HBO that he will never have to be an informant with the FBI against Tony. [/ QUOTE ] That guy is rad. |

However, as much as I like the Wire, it does not detract from one minute of my Sopranos' viewing pleasure.... |

Heard that might have been the final episode of the series. Makes sense because it seemed like significant time had developed between the end of last season. Such as the house Carmella was building, the Japenesse restaurant which had became their favorite with out any mention of it previously. Tony's sister's baby, New York boss already in prison, and no mention of Paulie.
