I haven't read all of the ZeeJustin post. Did it degenerate like this one?

[/ QUOTE ]

It turned out even better. People were going to report Curtains to Party because he *gasp* adviced ZeeJustin not to use multiple accounts. Guilt by association at it's finest.

A few also boycotted Stars because Stars only confiscated what ZeeJustin won in the few tournaments he entered with more than one account.

But the thread started crumbling under it's own weight after a while. Desperately needing new material which failed to materialize Rigor Mortis started setting in after ~1000 posts.

But the thread is worth reading mainly because of ZeeJustins feeble attempts at a justification.

I have some questions for the OP. First off, I have no idea who you are, what your story is, and I haven't read many of your posts. Having said that:

1) How old are you and have you ever been 100% responsible for supporting yourself?

2) If so, have you ever supported yourself 100% from online poker?

I would guess that neither of these is the case, but I know that #2 is not the case. You therefore need to think outside the box and look at this situation from the point of view of an online professional. What ZJ did affects our ability to provide for ourselves and our families. This is not a joke for us, and no pro on here will have any sympathy for ZJ whatsoever. If you're not in the real world, then realize that when you get there, all bets are off and you do what you have to do to make a living. There's simply no room for sympathy for douche bags like this who cost us money. There are many pros on this site, and I guarantee you that not one will share your point of view, unless he is guilty of the same thing ZJ is.

Also too, can you imagine the look on his face and the feeling he got when Party sent him that email. I, for one, am a little bet concerned personally for his mental health as a person. Cheater or not, he is human, and as such has rights, and id be concerned for his well-being.

[/ QUOTE ]

I feel the same. I don't think the punishment he got from PP is too severe, and I think PS may have been too light. But I do think some of the outright hatred and bile being spewed on this board is unwarranted. If I was 20 and all my buddies were doing this, I can't say 100% that I wouldn't have done it. I think I may have stayed out of it more because I have so much to lose than some moral obligation. But it's hard to have that kind of perspective when you're 20. I know not every 20-year old makes this mistake. I'm just saying a lot, particularly weak people like I was, do.

There are so many little grey areas that we all cross all the time in life, I can see making a jump just a little bit farther to multi-accounting. Doesn't mean I condone it and I hope I wouldn't have done it. But I can understand how one would get there w/o being completely evil. And I don't agree this person cannot be rehabilitated and should be banned from poker for life.

I was scanning his website last night, looking at some of the pictures on the beach, etc. and I really did start to feel sorry for the guy. His world has to be crashing down around him. As it should, but doesn't mean I can't feel some empathy for what he's going through. Certainly he's not a saint of a person to start with, but I don't think he's anything like a scoundrel either. I think a lot of people on this site are getting way too caught up in the mob mentality of crucifying him. I believe he deserves a second chance when he grows up a little and accepts responsibility. And that naturally takes some time.

If he had come out the next day and accepted full responsibility, said all the right things etc. (ala Hugh Grant on Leno), I would tend to think some PR-type person got to him and he was being completely duplicitous. As it was at least he spoke from the heart and we know his position, wrongheaded as it is. This makes me a lot more likely to believe him when/if he does come around someday.

El Diablo - I'm not familiar with the Gigabet situation, so could you please elaborate on NVG for a thread on it? Thanks.

Here's my proposal:

1. Don't take his $. You cannot prove that he cheated for it.

2. Remove all accounts except for the ZeeJustin main account.

3. Give him a 3 month suspension from the sites.

4. Warn him that if he ever does any multiaccounting like this ever again the punishment will be severe (like it is now).

5. ?? You tell me?

Indy

Here's my proposal: Party seizes $140,000 from him and he is banned from Stars and Party.

I've decided against boycotting Stars.

Instead, I'm opening up 4 new accounts with the expressed purpose of colluding, multi-playering and botting.

If/when I get caught they will only take what they can prove I cheated to get. Haha fools, they will never know how much ill gotten gains I have!

Very +EV for me to cheat there, even if I get caught.

Woodguy

I'm still awaiting a response on this!

I thought it was reasonably clear he meant ZJ. Perhaps he was talking about himself, but it seems unlikely.

I also like the implied attitude that only "big name players" have meaningful contributions to make.

he'll be forgiven or forgotten in time. You on the other hand, Indiana, with your lock on the Morales vs. Pacman fight are not forgiven yet. Uhhh cost me some $$$ LOL if I run into you I'll buy you a beer after kicking you in the nuts.
