I never quite understand this. If you are manipulating the pot beforehand to make yourself commited on the turn you are deciding beforehand that you are going t get all in no matter what. If you decide this then what does it matter what line you use to get there? [/ QUOTE ] close. you're manipulating the pot preflop to make commitment easier, either by making it profitable to get all-in against opponent(s)' likely range or by avoiding some of the tough commitment decisions. doesn't work all the time, but it can really hope hone your thinking and play. also, it's great for adjusting to deep or short stack sizes -- it works with any stack. once you hit your hand you then reevaluate and decide whether it's good to get all-in. however, if you set it up right preflop, you'll say "yes" more often and can also target what you want the SPR to be to maximize your earn in all-in situations. bah too complicated to get into her I don't type fats enough. can't wait for you to read it! |

I've thought about making bigger pre-flop raises against villains that play almost anything quite a bit lately. I haven't actually done it yet, but my thinking is that for the 63/14 type fish, the majority of their errors are coming pre-flop, so you want to maximize their errors. I think this can be done by adding 2BB to your standard raise if that particular villain his limped in front of you and you're in the CO or Button.
Downside is that this can get expensive if their also the type of villain that doesn't like to fold to C-bets and you're missing a lot of flops. I dunno. Something to think about anyways. |
