what would people think if after the "tim thats just bigotry blah blah blah" he said, i'm jus saying how ifeel as opposed to "i hate gay pepole".
to me that would have been politically incorrect (who gives a [censored]) but acceptable. To jus say I hate gay people is socially irresponsible. I think homosexuality is wrong (lets not debate about it, so for this discussions purposes, the reason is just because) but I do not hate gay people. When some bigot like killer crossover says stuff like that, it makes people like me look like a-holes |

I understand the argument fine. Tim Hardaway (and others) has the right to feel uncomfortable showering with gay men, I never said he didn't. What I'm saying is that his unease stems from his bigotry and dislike of gay people far more than it stems from a reality of a random gay man trying to hit on him.

k sry summarized version....
Instead of I hate gay people as his respone to being accused of bigotry, what if he jus said "thats how i feel." I don't want to shower with a gay man, I think homosexuality is wrong, but I do not HATE gay people. Saying you hate gay people on national tv is socially irresponsible, and it puts people like me in a bad light. |

gay people suck. they have buttsecks. Tim Hardaway had a sick crossover though.
On a serious note: I think people string out the homophobia to something its not. As much as people want to say it, they are not born gay, it is a decision they make. Much like religious preferences. If an Atheist(Muslim etc.) on this board, or in the Supreme Court, or on tv, like many have, say how much they hate Christianity etc. Its just their views and thats fine, but if a heterosexual male says he hates gay's, half the country goes up in arms. |

You are comparing a person's homosexuality to a person's religion?

On some level I would be aware and I suppose uncomfortable at first possibly, that makes me a little bit prejudiced. It's not a big deal, to pretend predjudice isn't rampant in this country is ignoring everything. |

I'm sure there are plenty of bigots that have issues showering with gays, but that in no way means everyone that feels uncomfortable with this idea is a bigot. |
