Women- can't live with them, shotgun seems too easy. [/ QUOTE ] This probably isn’t a ‘stupid’ argument but I felt it needed to be included. In the doctor’s: Me: So why do you think the pill didn’t work? Doctor: ………. Gf: (standing behind me) I’m not on the pill. Me: Hmmmmmmm. Outside: Me: Why did you tell me you were on the pill? There were a few answers to this which didn’t make much sense and I can’t remember any more but she finally settled on: Gf: I didn’t think I could get pregnant. I have some related stories but I’d just be going downhill from here. [ QUOTE ] "Why do you have to be so logical all the time?" [/ QUOTE ] Yeah I get this all the time too. |

Bump.
I don't know if I'll get a star for a bump or not, but I really liked this thread. |

I have some stories of my own, but I'd really just like to say to the OP that you don't [censored] with the last 15 minutes of someone's sleep. Period. That is snooze-button time.

This thread is bookmark-worthy, makes me feel so much better about not having a girl.

Felt the need to bump this post b/c of this gem I just suffered through.
So I'd been seeing a girl for a few months exclusively, but then I left for 6 months overseas...no real talk about staying together or not...we both just figured we'd do our own things and then see where we were at when I came back. Anyhow, we've managed to stay in pretty good touch via email/IM, and she wrote me the other day telling me that she had kissed a guy in a bar, but felt bad about it, and thought she should tell me. Whatever -- I'm not making that big a deal about it b/c she's not making it out to be that big a deal, and we're an ocean away, after all. Anyhow, we still have a really friendly chat over IM, and as we're saying our goodbyes, I write in my faux-jealous guy way: "Alright, talk to you in a bit. Try not to make out with any more dudes on the way to the parking lot." She's a little confused (never having seen Clerks), and I say to her, oh, never mind, it's from a movie. Next day, I wake up to this email: "you're a dick. was talking to jessica and she told me your misquote. you think that's so funny, huh? makes me regret all the nice things i just told you. really who do u think i am, if u think i deserve a comment like that. construction workers on the side of the road have never said anything even remote to what you just did. how is it that you piss me off even on the brightest of days." Alright, from best I can figure, she asked her gf what the hell I was talking about, and the girl told her it was a play on a quote from Clerks, but told her what the real line in the movie was, and now my girl thinks i was basically calling her a ho-bag who gives group bj's in parking lots. Cliff's notes: girls are dumb. Oh, by the way, this girl got her undergrad degree from Harvard, and is still this dumb. |

You can't do this over IM like you can in person, because you're at the complete mercy of her being in the right mood to pick up on your sarcasm. Being at the mercy of a woman's emotional state is never a good place to be. |

This thread reminds me of the time my x-girlfriend (who i had been with for about a year) and I got in a fight about how I responded to one of her text messages one night.
She texts me saying, "I love you". So, being late in the night and apparently "not thinking" I tiredly text her back "luv ya too". Knowing that I have to work in a couple hours and that Im already going to be short on sleep as it is she calls me and then later comes over to argue with me about how "luv ya" is such a mean and rude way to reply to her and that I was really disrespecting her by replying to her that way. Long story made short, I got about 3 hours sleep that night. I broke up with her about a week later. ( I almost wish now that I had broke up with her via text message by saying "dont luv ya") |
