[ QUOTE ]
Basically the EV of assured survival is greater than the +EV of the chips to be won on that particular hand. [/ QUOTE ] you really think this applies to 70/30 situations? |

[ QUOTE ]
How do you propose you win the tournament without continually taking advantage of 70/30 situations? [/ QUOTE ] You guys are reading too much into what I posted. I was trying to make the simple point that putting your stack at risk with just a 70/30 advantage means you're going to be knocked out of tournaments routinely when doing so. If you do it over and over in the same tournament, your chances of survial go down. |

Nope I edited my post to be more clear. The 70/30 edge was in a huge pot that would have given him tons of chips. You take that all day and twice on Sunday.

Someone please find that Paul Phillips thread where Raymer and every other name poster worked this thing out. The general consensus was that a good tournament player's advantage is taking the 60/40's, and even the 55/45's. No player is good enough to overcome this by chipping up, or at least this was the given.
Not to bust Dynasty's balls here, but when it comes to Shaniac/Sirio/MLG/Fossilman/Paul Phillips on one end, and Dynasty popping up in here saying otherwise, I'm gonna end this argument asap before it turns into a 100 post sidetrack on something that was already covered a few months back. |

I am weeping right now, for instance. |

This topic was discussed ad nauseum with your idea proven wrong by just about every good thinking tournament player short of Phil Hellmuth. [/ QUOTE ] LOL, Hellmuth. Why am I not surprised? |
