You guys getting scared yet?

[/ QUOTE ]

As I've stated, I'm not even going to look over my shoulder until the lead is down to four games.

We're there now. So I'm taking a peek, but without a hint of "scared".

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm not "scared" either because there is no way(well there's a way but lets not think like that) we're not making the playoffs. But if you put a gun to my head right this minute and told me I had to bet my house on who would win the Division I would be scared as hell to bet it all on the Sox.

I liked how on ATH Mariotti said the Yanks had no chance at the playoffs because they didn't go out and get Gagne, instead relying on a rookie he had never heard of :

Tough job being a GM these days, seems more like a crap shoot. At the trade deadline Epstein was universally agreed with by Sox fans in this forum and elsewhere for acquring Gagne and passing on Dye.

Now 2 weeks later, it looks like we got the wrong guy as Dye has come back to form and Gagne can't be trusted with a 5 run lead.

Gagne needs some midseason injections like giambi a few years ago. His hgh has clearly worn off.

Tito forced him in today. Hopefully now he will just use him in spots where he can't hurt us until he gets his [censored] together.

hey dont worry, the fenway faithfull will show him whats up when they booo him at upon his return. i mean its clearly obvious that a guy with a ton to prove, working on his last likely chance at a big contract AND ok'd a trade to go to a team with a lessor role is just not trying. i mean it makes perfect sense. nevermind that we are talking about 3 innings of work here, aided by wonderful defense (Mike lowell missed pop up, JD drew mishap, which probably had a bigger effect on that game than gagne). nope this guy needs a healthy dose of boston fan and media support.

Who thinks he's not trying. Certainly not me and I doubt even the biggest yahoo Red Sox fans think that either. But regardless the shoddy defense behind him, he's not at the top of his game right now.

So Tito has to and I think will only use him in non critical situations just to take the pressure off a little until he can get his [censored] back together.
