Anybody else but me not comfortable with this 5 game lead? Yanks now in the hard part of their schedule and it seems not to matter. Another laugher yesterday, 11-2.

So lets play the numbers game: Sox playing .600 ball for the season. If they continue at that pace which I think is a reasonable assumption they will project to 97 wins.

For the Yankees to tie they would have to go 32-14 which is about .700. Unless they cool, very possible, even probable.

It's probably no big deal either way becuase it looks like both Yanks and Red Sox are going to be in the playoffs but I really would like the Sox to take down the Division one time.

Not me. I'm convinced that we're still just coasting, and that we have another gear that no one has seen yet.

if steve trachsel and his 3 k/9 shut the sox down again, i'll be more puzzled than worried.

they will be in the playoffs, that is for sure. the indians and tigers are far inferior.

I have a theory that the Sox know that something like the last 5 world series winners have been the Wild Card you they're trying to become the wild card team.

THORNE: What was Manny Ramirez thinking there?

PALMER: You never know.

THORNE: (laughing) Why did I even ask that?

LOL Julio Lugo. That didn't even come close to hitting him.

Just started watching this game. Is that gun in Baltimore accurate? They had Schillings fast ball at 81-82, a couple at the end at 91. Also no K's. Doesn't look good long term if that's all he's got for a fast ball.
