I agree Shane, you are not ready to have a calm discussion with me.
I can try, but pretty hard when somebody call my vision annoying or compare myself to McCarthy, Jesus!, a liberal like me (you can ask in the Politics forum) compared to McCarthy, that's something.
I think your words are the ones filled with emotion and kind of "hysterical"

Shane,

Have you entertained the idea that the fact that so many people is calling something black, it's because it is black?

Cheating is cheating even if some of my friends or people I know are doing it. The issue does not turn to be complex just because some of my friends are involved.

Some of the posters here are pretty vocal and want to see JJ and ZJ die. Of course I don't agree with them. They made a mistake and they already paid; I wish them well in the future, hopefully they learn something from this experience. We all make mistakes and we move on.

I just want some of the cynics who keep cheating even with all these scandals to get caught and pay also. If that's emotional and I may take more fire from some of the internet names, so be it. I really wish they all get caught and all their funds confiscated, after that happens, I'll wish them well in the future too; and I'll be glad to play with them in the same tourney using one account as some of us are already doing it.

[/ QUOTE ]

I think I can summarize my experience with this issue by saying this:

Yes, cheating exists in a "black" (i.e. not gray) area of ethics.

However, when I found out some people I knew were doing it (and it was more like being peripherally aware that this was going on), I let people temporarily convince me that it wasn't as bad as it seemed while I debated the issue with them. In other words, I didn't think what they were doing was similar to dropping a bomb the next day, raping an old woman or robbing a bank. The problem didn't seem to warrant my special attention, beyond my willingness to hold my belief that when a good player enters two or more accounts in the same tournament, it is to the severe detriment of average players.

All this probably makes me weak, or "cowardly" as others have asserted in this thread, but at the exact moment when I became aware of this type of thing occuring, I did not have all the ethical answers, or any approach for dealing with it.

Things have unfolded appropriately enough without my interference.

I felt exactly the same way. My position has changed a lot since then.

So, you admit that multi-accounting existed in a formerly gray areas of ethics that is now much more black-and-white BECAUSE of the JJP/ZJ scandals?

That's kind of what I was trying to say a long while back.

Exactly, we have all heard arguments like "the fish is going to lose his money anyway, if we don't take it somebody else will".

I am not saying you should run to the streets shouting about it, we are all allowed to be faithful to our friends or fear a couple of broken legs (you don't really think all cheaters are computer nerds do you?) but being able to stay away from those "opportunities" is already a great proof of maturity.

I'm saying that I felt the same way, when I first thought about this. Yes, I used to think this was a grey area; I was mistaken; but I changed my mind long time ago, long time before the JJ/ZJ scandals. You can read about my position in El Capitano scandal; it was basically the same position I have now.

I've known very few people who have a developed one, regardless. College makes it worse, often. Not better.

[/ QUOTE ]Tell me you're kidding.

In the short run, colleges makes most kids morals much, much worse.

In the long run, it's probably a mild improvement

Btw all arguing and teasing aside William

I used to play a lot at Ladbrokes, small stakes kind of stuff, even won some MTT's there .. and while I exclusively play party these day because of the big playerbase, I always liked laddies and considered returning there ... While I still play fairly low stakes, so I proberly will not be affected by any cheating, I would like to know if you would be so kind as to share

What goes on at Ladbrokes ?? (Is it just the norwegians killing the high PLO tables thru collusion or is there more ) ??

There is more but you don't have to worry about it as long as you play small stakes kind of stuff.
