Birthday Tomorrow! I'm turning 23. Were going to go snowboarding up at Seymour, then come back and party the night away.

Here's a funny fact from March so far. 44k hands, All 200NL (My 1st month where I've managed to stay alive playing 200NL. It took me 4, 1000$ attempts)

Amount won: $2,900.
Total Rake: $4,400.

LOL, Thank god I get rakeback.

In the last week, my focus has really slid. And its time to turn it around. I plan on doing all the proper things I know I'm suppose to do, but don't always do them. I think the main reason I'm not as sharp is, probably not a big surpise... pot. I've been a pot head at heart for about 3 years, smoking probably an average of two joints a day.(great sublime song) Although I usually play all my poker before my 1st smoke of the day I actually think its affecting my game. So I'm goin to attempt to quit, on my birthday. It's funny, cause with addictions I can't just ease off, or slowly stop. I never could, I'm the type of person who does something very compulsive and then out of no where just quits and doesn't look back. It's going to be tough, but i think i can do it.

If all goes well, I'll be going into April one week pot free, I'll be comfortable in the 200NL game finally! And with a clear head. That should be great, I'll be able to really focus on increasing my winrate.

Ok, so Kolo's Facebook relationship status is "It's complicated", and on his wall I posted "I think 'it's complicated' is an understatement", and then Kolo's hot sister (after I added her as a friend) sent me this message:

wee, first day playing exclusively 2/4 (have taken a few shots before but im a br nit ). did so-so but ended the day in the green at least.

first observations is the much higher frequency of threebetting that goes on. in general the game plays much more agressively. also it gets kinda scary when you get 3-4 buy ins deep, still in the 1/2 mindset regarding money i guess.

time to grind 50k hands to see if im a winner at a new level again

buh bye SSNL(?)

I felt like this was our first hand where we really started playing. I made this move wanted to 4bet AI here, but I miscalculated the size of your 3bet. This hand wasn't a total failure for me though, as it really cemented in my mind that you were good enough to be capable of a play here and what level I thought you were on.

Your play here is good, as its obviously a really great flop that probably didn't hit you (or me), and you can 4bet profitably. I'm not sure if you were calling the push, but stack sizes really looked like it, so this is why I didn't pull the trigger on the 4bet.

Once I had the information for the previous hand, I was ready to use it in a somewhat similar plan. I was just starting to call more preflop because I wanted to feel you out postflop, so this hand was timely. I made sure that a pot raise would commit you, and made a fairly decent size bet on the flop. The flop was great for it, drawy and raggy, and my range was probably expected to be weak. To be honest, I actually thought you had overcards, and thought you were going to call with them because of the plethora of draws out there.

I thought this was a really interesting hand:
Poker Stars
Pot Limit Holdem Tournament
Blinds: t160/t320
2 players
Converter

Stack sizes:
PBJaxx: t27600
KLJ: t20400

Pre-flop: (2 players) KLJ is BB with J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
<font color="#cc0000">SB raises to t960</font>, KLJ calls t640 <font color="aaaaaa">(pot was t1280)</font>.

Flop: 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (t1920, 2 players)
KLJ checks, <font color="#cc0000">SB bets t1280</font>, KLJ calls t1280 <font color="aaaaaa">(pot was t3200)</font>.

Turn: 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (t4480, 2 players)
KLJ checks, <font color="#cc0000">SB bets t2880</font>, KLJ calls t2880 <font color="aaaaaa">(pot was t7360)</font>.

River: 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (t10240, 2 players)
<font color="#cc0000">KLJ bets t5432</font>, SB folds.
Uncalled bets: t5432 returned to KLJ.

Results:
Final pot: t10240

FWIW I committed to a C/C, C/C, lead mentally on the flop (provided a few certain cards didn't come out). If the turn went c/c, I was considering a river c/r on most blankish cards. I felt like this play had merit because I had been playing to appear fairly passive at the time, while you were definitely the aggressor at this point in the match.

With the 2flush on the board, I felt like you'd be 2barreling light (and likely w/o a king, which I thought you needed to call here). I obviously had "Fold to any bet" checked on the river

What did you have here?
