[I just feel we'd be better of looking at the bigger picture.

I agree with you!
However (haha) don't you think that 6 accounts is a lesser offence than 2? I do, because the 6 accounts probably started with 2 and continued with 3,4,5,and finally 6, meaning ZJ had chosen to cheat more and more, instead of taking a shot with 2 accounts and deciding it was not a road he wanted to follow.

[/ QUOTE ]

Right, but once ZeeJustin saw how easy it was for Noah to get away with winning a tournament having played 2 accounts (edit: whether or not this is what actually happened, this is certainly the impression many of us got), he just took it to its logical extent (in his mind). The way ZJ was always talking about Mega-Multi-Tabling, he took this multi-accounting concept as far as he could.

I think we agree on more than you realize. All-in-all I don't care about any subjective analysis, just interested in how this story develops as a watershed moment in poker history.

for me to really hope to have a calm discussion on this issue

Mmmmmm, ok, lets see:

Sirio, you are way too hysterical

your 20/20 hinsight ethical-vision is so annoying

Good luck on any McCarthy-esque activities you choose to engage in in the near future.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes, I can tell you're ready to have a calm discussion.

Sorry if you were hurt by my post. But your answer I think kind of proves my point about double standards.
My ethical vision is annoying (whatever you think that is, you sound like you know me well) but ZJ cheating is complex.

[/ QUOTE ]

Sirio, not sure if you know what taking a quote out of context is, but that's what you did.

I said, "you are too hyterical for me to really hope to have a calm discussion with you on the issue."

Maybe the wording was awkard, but what I meant to say was: "I am NOT ready to have a calm discussion with you on the issue, due to how hysterical you have come across, but here goes anyway..."

See my game example, FPS bots are a prime example of this in the wild.

[/ QUOTE ]

I already told you. The two are not comparable for obvious reasons.

But please elaborate, how do you detect a debugger

[/ QUOTE ]

There are numerous ways, and books written about that sort of thing. One basic place to start is IsDebuggerPresent. You can get much more complex from there.

[ QUOTE ]
I will continue to pick apart any propose algorithms.

[/ QUOTE ]

You haven't picked anything apart yet. Heck you didn't even correctly understand the first thing I said. Stop being so sanctimonious.

I basically agree Shane

But as I stated a few post back, I unfortunally doubt that this will be a watershed moment, my guess is that this dies down and it will be business as usual in a week or so.

Unless we get some nice headlines saying things like 'Cheating is common in online poker'

If such headlines are a good thing, I really do not know

This thread is starting to suck. It's just the same half dozen people making the same arguments back and forth.

But it can be saved with more photoshopped pics, fake emails, gimmick accounts, etc.

Agreed. Wish I wasn't addicted to this thread, wish I had some creative talent with photoshop.

Ok I changed my mind. Lets try and squeeze out another ~1200 posts on this topic so we don't have to say the longest thread ever involved Myspace.
