I think the idea of making one large map is ok, but probably isnt going to be a real big help for you guys while you are still weak. I mean, many of the bases you find you will not be able to attack. Also, with no transportation, moving halfway across the world one step at a time just to attack a base you know is there is kind of pointless. Maybe if there are a few people that are in very close proximity it would be a good idea, but for the whole group to do it wouldn't be worth the time IMO.
Now, when you guys get stronger and are more capable of attacking, traveling, etc. then I believe it is a good idea to at least share coordinates of the bases that give a lot of money or are stronger than you so that if another member of the group has a higher attack, maybe they can attack him. HTH. |

The best combination of 2 upgrades is weapon and stealth. Stealth lets you spy and find out who has what level of fortification, but since you can't attack much without a weapon its worthless on its own.
Buy stealth first and attack any bases with no fortification upgrades untill your wanted level gets to 4-5. then you start losing to much money on your attacks, and you should just search mountains untill its reset, then repeat. Once you have enough for rock (good ole rock, nothing beats that) you can attack any base with 0 fortification without any care of your wanted level. You will have enough from one full day of attacking with weapon 1 and stealth 1 to get a fortification and a security upgrade. don't upgrade transportaion unless you plan on mapping the area and really investing the time. |

I've been mapping since about halfway through my first night of play. I have about 3 full columns and about half of two others mapped. I use a very simple notation:
x- jungle/swamp/wasteland M- mountain DB - deserted base fort/security/attack/stealth - store MB w/note - eg, MB 0 fort, MB high security, MB net door, stuff like that. I have written the name of the base down for some, not for others. I do the thing in excel. Im doing just basic searching right now to buy attack level 1, then I'm going back for another strafing run on the many many 0 level fortifications. |

Attack Level: 1
Fortification Level: 2 Stealth: 0 Security: 0 Transportation: 0 Wanted Level: 0 Times You've Spied: 0 Times You've Successfully Spied: 0 Total Attacks: 148 Successful Attacks: 135 Attacks On You: 1 Successful Attacks On You: 1 Cash You Stole: $19.41 Cash You Found: $5.82 Cash Stolen From You: $0.23 Times You Have Been Spied: 0 Successful Spies On You: 0 Total Moves Made: 1,459 Total Score: 474 Number Of Referrals: 0 Earnings From Referrals: $0.00 Total Cash: $5.32 I've been mapping in excel. my plan is to next get some transport, then maybe another fort and another attack. I'm going to be using the trapline idea that stuey mentioned where i'll be able to move directly from opponent bases to opponent base for my first few hundred turns, then from mountain to mountain for the last hundred to reset my wanted level. |

I was spying on a base today and the message said something about needing a grappling hook for the 8 foot fence. Does any one know what level of fort. this corresponds to?

Ah good to know.
Also, I don't understand how the fortification goes to 10, but the attack only goes to 9. Also, I was reading some guy in the forum bragging about how he knew a way to attack bases with a fort. level of 10. Others were whining that they'd been hit. Obviously not something we should concern ourselves with yet, but maybe something to look into. |

I have noticed that if my wanted level is high I will fail very often when I attack a base with a fort that is one level higher than my attack strength. If my wanted level is 0 it seems I have like a 80% chance of getting something even though his defence is 2 and my attack is one.
That guy bragging is probably just attcking 10's when his wanted level is low and he is doing well. As you will lose less when you fail and get more when it works so long as your wanted level is very low or better yet 0. If you are attacking bases that have forts lower than your attck level then it does not seem to matter how high your wanted level is you will get something. |
