Fine, I'll shut-up. This is becoming a waste of time. I've said my peace and you guys want to stone the guy. If nobody wants to join me in petitioning a different and lessor punishment for Zee then its going to be fruitless. I just hope for your sake that you never get in a similar situation. Indy [/ QUOTE ] I won't. I dont' cheat. |

Indiana,
His blog goes on and on about how close he is to Gigabet, someone who many tourney players claim has ripped them off. See NVG for a thread on that. He is also close w/ a number of other players who are said to cheat/scam in various ways. |

[ QUOTE ] You appear unfamiliar with the concept of punitive damages or the deterrent effect, which are central principles in our criminal justice system. You also miss the main transgression resulting from ZJ’s actions --- it was NOT the injury to other players whose equity was hurt in those tournaments -- rather it was the damage to the perceived integrity of both PartyPoker and online poker in general. You think ZJ ACTION’s were just bad and not extremely bad. I disagree. But the more important point is that the resulting IMPACT from his behavior is far greater than the magnitude of his actions alone. And that is the point you seem to be missing. -g [/ QUOTE ] And that sums it up. Nice post. [/ QUOTE ] Well said sirs, Carl |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] And since it probably wasn't obvious enough, the witches thing isn't making fun of ZeeJustin. It is making fun of you. [/ QUOTE ] So you are comparing people who post a response saying that ZeeJustin should have his money taken with people who burned witches at the stake. And then you attack my post by saying I shouldn't use an analogy. So do you see the inconsistency here? Or are you just a [censored] idiot? [/ QUOTE ] The phrase witchhunt exist in our days and doesn't neccessarily mean burning people. But if you think everyone here has reacted in a calm and rational way, thats your preogative. Sticks and stones, yadayadayada. I am dissapointed you didn't take my holocaust tip seriously. You could make a killer (no pun intended) analogy with that, you know. [/ QUOTE ] I've been trying for five minutes but I can't think of one. How about a simile instead: ZeeJustin is like Hitler. I haven't read all of the ZeeJustin post. Did it degenerate like this one? |

[ QUOTE ]
I'm not saying exactly what should be done. Honestly, I haven't thought through it and perhaps I'm not smart enough to do so on my own but I'm not so stupid that I cannot see what is happening here. Do you really think that he should never be able to play online again for the rest of his life for something he did at 19 yrs of age???? Probation, house arrest, maybe, but complete termination of his poker career? It ain't right. Indy [/ QUOTE ] While I agree about the "angry mob" theory and that some people need a little perspective, as far as I know his punishment was banned from party and stars and seizure of his bankroll. That is not too harsh. It fits the crime. Also, if he matures, it is just a roadblock in his life and he can bounce back. His response showed quite a bit of immaturity. But in the U.S. particularly, everyone is given a second chance. He can play other sites, play live games, etc. But he will need to overcome the fact that he can't play the main sites anymore and has lost a significant amount of his current bankroll. That's his obstacle. Time will tell. |

[ QUOTE ]
The kid didn't have $100,000 to his name a year ago. There is no way that taking it from him now will "ruin him" in any way. [/ QUOTE ] Perhaps not. If I'm him, though, and online poker doesn't pan out, I'm not looking forward to applying to a job or university where they might, say, casually Google my name to see what comes up after this. This certainly also puts a crimp in plans he had for really aggressively marketing himself, as others have pointed out. He cannot be happy about that. While he is not ruined literally, I don't think it's exaggerating at all to say that his life has taken a major turn for the worse. |
