Yeah kind of like having an "X" only WSOP event that awards a bracelet.

Have the event but make it a non bracelet event and same goes for seniors event. If its not an open event then there should not be a bracelet awarded.

End of thread.

[/ QUOTE ]

your mostly baseless opinion is the thread ender? weird. Why does everyone make such a big deal of this certain situation. Having a womens event with no bracelet>>>>>>>>>womens event with a bracelet? to me, it doesnt matter at all. i dont get it.

Women can play in any event they choose. Men can play in every event except one. It's not a big deal at all.

OK, here are a few events for the WSOP advosory board to ponder (or ignore).

So many of the 20 somethings look to their youth as a factor in their perceived dominance over anyone older. The seniors have their own event but what about the 40-somethings who can't keep up with the kids yet are too young for the Seniors? Why don't we have an over-40 bracelet event just as the Y has over-40 leagues for basketball?

How about a bracelet event for blind people?

And if we are going to do that we should have an event for 'special' people.

And lets not forget immigration reform. Shouldn't it include a provision that illegal aliens should be able to play in their own bracelet event without fear of needing ID to collect?

The World Series just is not going to be complete until every segment of our population is segregated and this discrimination ends. They best do it now before Obama makes them change.

I can't decide either way whether the women's event should be axed, it depends what will bring more tardnits to the table..
On one hand, by cancelling it, there is the opportunity to force these dense broads directly to the mixed events for some ez money. See FT of WSOP women's event..
On the other hand, over time we may attract a greater number of these weaker players to our tables if they prefer, at first, to play in the skill-less field that is the women's event and move up once the other women start telling them they play too loose.

am i really getting attacked because i said some of these comments were offensive??

and once again, I AM AGAINST LADIES ONLY TOURNAMENTS.

By no means, I'm just an ass and didn't take kindly to the generalisation that I'm racist just because I made some possibly sexist statements. I just call'em how I see'em though, and that FT + a lot of women players I've seen are just freaking nits with no game what-so-ever and it infuriates the hell out of me.
No disrespect to you, I'm sure you'd kill me at the table.

hey, i know, i disagree with this concept. how should i frame my argument? oh, maybe i could use a bunch of analogies for what other events we could conceive since we have a womens event. Okay, what would be a goood analogy...oh i know, how about someone that isnt even remotely close in any way whatsoever. man, now i feel clever for having out logic'd everyone else. Obviously having a blind, 3 legged pig bracelet equates to having a womens bracelet.

Yah I'm a teddy bear when I get called out by a lady, possibly a leak in my game. FWIW my sexism is only limited to like poker and driving, otherwise I don't bring gender, let alone race into discussions.
I think this women's event just got under my skin because it was so frustratingly slow and pathetic. If the lack of experience at the FT/donkaments/poker is the cause for such nittiness, then to me that proves the event shouldn't be worthy of a bracelet. I'd expect most of the WSOP FT's to have a majority competent players and not just one or two like we saw the other day.

Yes my "mostly baseless opinion" is the thread ender. lol . But somehow your baseless opinion is what? Gospel? Again if ANYONE thinks awarding a bracelet during a CLOSED event is correct then your "opinion" means less to me than my dogs waste.

Awarding bracelets during closed events is the suck.

End of thread x 2.

I've got your back here, Suzy. Some of the comments have been offensive, though I stand by what I said - as long as we have WOEs, such comments will come naturally, as the existence of WOEs is condescending and degrading in and of itself.

As for getting more women into mixed events, and how the the women's event sell out all the time ... just one word there ... money.

[/ QUOTE ]

About once a month at the casino I play at there is a tournament with a $250 to $300 buy in.

Very few women play.

Every Wed. there is a tournament with a $100 buy in.

Very few women play.

The biggest women's tournament had a buy in of $400.

It sold out in record time.

This "money" excuse just isn't working for me.
