Might I ask why liberals always focus on Federally-provided social health care and not state-based health care? It seems ridiculous that the states could not provide their own social health care.

[/ QUOTE ]

They don't only focus on the Federal level

Decentralization is great. I think we all would be much happier if we allowed smaller areas to govern as much or as little as they wanted to. California could become a socialist paradise, and New Hampshire could become land of the free. Even better, let people go down to localities. Let San Fransisco do what it wants, and let Sunnyvale do something else. People can move where they want and support the programs they want.

Do you expect me to disagree?

Yes.

This post clearly states that I support the same ends of decentralization, but just that a different means would likely need to be employed.

So while ASists seek the same stateless society as ACist, I think it has to come in a more radical, revolutionary way.

If I knew exactly, don't you think I'd be out doing it? Basically it'd have to involve the simultaneous, widespread stoppage of government while at the same time workers seizing all firms.

Yea I was talking to my non-AC anarchist friend and he said something like "if somebody asked me 'do you like taxes?', it would be difficult to respond," because on the one hand taxation and the state are wrong etc., but on the other hand he doesn't want us to be complete slaves to the evil corporate executives.

This is completely contradictory. On one hand you want to stop a collective entity from seizing everyone's property, yet at the same time you want to form collective entities that seize everyone's property.

This can't happen, so all social anarchists end up doing is supporting the big nanny government.

Maybe enought people don't hear the day to day horror stories of poor people on welfare having kids that are abused/neglected and taken away by the state.

Or they don't know that it is fashionable in certain circles for young women to have kids so they get a free apartment, money, etc. This is a big + to a high school drop out living at home with their parent(s).

Maybe if the news put stories like that on the front page a couple times a week most people would change their minds.

[/ QUOTE ]

You think more people should watch "my baby's daddy" type shows like Montel Williams? Is that the best way to become politically informed like you?

What does a montel williams baby daddy show have to do with serious reporting of the various facts regarding government entitlement programs and how they incentivise bad behavior?
