that's another big issue with these polls. people get worked up because they think someone is a 2 (meaning 80% are better looking) while others think she's a 4 (using the normal distribution, meaning 1 sd below average) and really they mean about the same thing.

Many people in this thread do not understand statistics. You're talking about a binary scale, shes a 1 if you want to sleep with her or a 0 if you do not. Thats the only scale that matters to guys anyway.

The bell curve rating scale doesn't make sense to me.

There are MORE 1s and 2s than 9s and 10s. There are around the same number of 3s and 4s as 7s and 8s. In fact, I consider the 1s and 2s the BIGGEST group of all the ratings.
