No they don't. I am unlikely to attend X school for my MBA but I am still considering it.

Lol, right but you are also saying he wants to come but probably doesn't want to.

I have always heard his parents preferred UK (maybe because it's closer to home) even though he likes Florida. Of course I am also considering the possibility that Donovan comes here or UK hits a HR w/ someone else. At the moment or with Tubby, I don't think Patrick wanted/wants to come here.

So can we drop this now!!

If we get Rick Barnes I will cry. I would prefer Tubby and that is saying a lot.

To be honest there is no one on ESPN's list of candidates (not that I think they have a clue) that really excites me. Izzo/Crean would be alright I guess but not really a home run like Donovan would be. Can't imagine Izzo leaving anyway. I think the D'Antoni stuff has more merit than people think but I got flamed last time I mentioned him. He is the most-talked about guy on the UK boards besides Donovan. And it's not like totally random guys get mentioned all the time - Phil Jackson is not being rumored.

the coaching carousel will also open up some new recruiting wars. Derrick Rose says he wants out of his commitment to Memphis if Calipari leaves.

How is Calipari not a slam dunk? Scummy guy with the school impervious to sanctions.

That's exactly why he's not a slam dunk.

Also, a guy that virtually no one has mentioned that I think is at least in the discussion is Bob Huggins.

oh gawd
FFS
please just stay at Memphis Calipari

I don't want to read about Derek Rose for the next few months on all the Illini forums again just to see him choose another school again.

EDIT: too late
make it stop...it's on rivals too
now, I have to read even more recruiting threads that are insane...I thought I was done with hearing about this guy so often

Tubby was on ESPN radio this morning. Here is a summary of the 6 to 7 minute interview:

He is happy with the legacy he left but at this time in his life he needed a new challenge and MN was just that. They asked if he would have been the coach of UK next season had he decided not to leave and he said yes that that wasn't even an issue. He says UK has great fans and a great legacy and that counting the two years his son Saul was there before he got there Lexington has been the center of his life for 12 years. He leaves great friends behind in his journey to MN. At his age, he said, you begin to think about what makes me happy and what will keep my passion alive (he mentioned his passion was getting the most from young ppl) and he said to answer that question a change was needed. He said the pressure to win championships won't change, that the media and scrutiny in MN is comparable to Lexington, and that winning basketball is the only brand he is interested in. He is interested in ice fishing this winter and is a big fisherman and can't wait to take advantage of the many natural delights of his new home state (I used to live in MN so I can speak to this). Class act. Congrats MN Golden Golphers on your new coach.
