[ QUOTE ] I got it right in the first response, are you guys dumb or something? 2nd level suckaas [/ QUOTE ] Holy crap! He's right you know. It's complex but if you think about it the player could have an ace in his hand and end up with AQQQQ after all the cards have run. This would mean that he would win the pot despite not being ahead to begin with. I can't believe we all missed it. Very well played pennpal [/ QUOTE ] i still don't get how this works. pennpal, can you explain? |

Jim and others,
Got the solution. Man, it's so simple once you step back and think about it. I'll explain in detail since this has flummoxed everyone for so long. Here's the key to the solution. mike writes "but villain does not have a Q" So a lot of us naturally just stopped thinking about hands with a Q in them. But you have to think outside the box. Villian does not have a Q. He has TWO Q's. So, with QQ he flops quad Queens against opps Kings full of Queens. Seems so obvious when I explain it, doesn't it? It's like "OMG HOW THE F DID I NOT THINK OF THAT?" So, thanks for the great challenge Mike, QQ for Quad Queens over Kings full. What a sick cooler! Really hope BBV keeps the great brainteasers coming, this was really challenging and fun. |

El D - OP already said no pocket pairs and despite that, you missed the boat on this one by 150 posts. back to the drawing board.

fs,
No, you missed the boat. Villain has TWO QUEENS in his hand, not one. That's the trick to the whole riddle. |

TWP, fs:
Both of you are still missing the point. The trick was in the wording of mike's riddle. He said "villain does not hold A Q in his hand" as in "villain does not hold ONE Q in his hand" - and he doesn't, HE HOLDS TWO!!!! I'm done explaining this, go back and read my simple step by step explanation. If you are still confused, I will let BigJim explain it to you, I am sick of trying to deal with people who are too dumb to solve this easy brainteaser. |
