Vern, that's a great idea but unfortunately I really don't see a chance of this happening.

Did some more thinking on this. Since we now $1 in individual tourny fees is 5 FPP, then use this:
((Rake^1.2619)*5)/(Number of players dealt in)=FPP per player Works out to be: Code:

Total FPP earned per player by # dealt into game Rake FPP 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 $0.25 0.87 0.09 0.10 0.11 0.12 0.14 0.17 0.22 0.29 0.43 $0.50 2.08 0.21 0.23 0.26 0.30 0.35 0.42 0.52 0.69 1.04 $0.75 3.48 0.35 0.39 0.43 0.50 0.58 0.70 0.87 1.16 1.74 $1.00 5.00 0.50 0.56 0.63 0.71 0.83 1.00 1.25 1.67 2.50 $1.25 6.63 0.66 0.74 0.83 0.95 1.10 1.33 1.66 2.21 3.31 $1.50 8.34 0.83 0.93 1.04 1.19 1.39 1.67 2.09 2.78 4.17 $1.75 10.13 1.01 1.13 1.27 1.45 1.69 2.03 2.53 3.38 5.07 $2.00 11.99 1.20 1.33 1.50 1.71 2.00 2.40 3.00 4.00 6.00 $2.25 13.91 1.39 1.55 1.74 1.99 2.32 2.78 3.48 4.64 6.96 $2.50 15.89 1.59 1.77 1.99 2.27 2.65 3.18 3.97 5.30 7.95 $2.75 17.92 1.79 1.99 2.24 2.56 2.99 3.58 4.48 5.97 8.96 $3.00 20.00 2.00 2.22 2.50 2.86 3.33 4.00 5.00 6.67 10.00 $3.25 22.13 2.21 2.46 2.77 3.16 3.69 4.43 5.53 7.38 11.06 $3.50 24.30 2.43 2.70 3.04 3.47 4.05 4.86 6.07 8.10 12.15 $3.75 26.51 2.65 2.95 3.31 3.79 4.42 5.30 6.63 8.84 13.25 $4.00 28.75 2.88 3.19 3.59 4.11 4.79 5.75 7.19 9.58 14.38 $4.25 31.04 3.10 3.45 3.88 4.43 5.17 6.21 7.76 10.35 15.52 $4.50 33.36 3.34 3.71 4.17 4.77 5.56 6.67 8.34 11.12 16.68 $4.75 35.72 3.57 3.97 4.46 5.10 5.95 7.14 8.93 11.91 17.86 $5.00 38.11 3.81 4.23 4.76 5.44 6.35 7.62 9.53 12.70 19.05

Result is a non-linear distribution so micro players earn FPP, but not nearly at the rate as a high stakes short handed players. Note, the $5 pots are currently worth 3FPP as is, so this only adds .81 FPP reward and the $3 are worth 2FPP so this method adds nothing. Also, the most a 2-3 handed player ever pays in rake is $2 and then only in the 200/400 limit game, all other games 2-3 caps a dollar. But something like this would reward them for the higher rake they pay (2.5FPP v 1FPP) since they pay more rake even with a $1 cap. In a 10 handed game, a game collects $1 rake a hand, each person is worth $0.10 to the rake. If 5 people are dealth in, they are worth $0.20 and should get more FPP. The current system rewards full ring play which is the slowest for both the players and profit for the company. Increasing incentives to play short handed only increases the benefit for PS, IMHO. Sorry, up late and doing bored math. |

[ QUOTE ]
2. I can see there is a way to search for players but I can't see how to store buddies on a list to search from. [/ QUOTE ] There isn't a buddy list as such, but whenever you search for a player their name is stored and next time you search if you hit the drop down arrow all the names of the players you have previously searched for appears. |

I like your first calculation, the problem with the updated one is that without doing the maths (which I commend you for doing) I suspect it will result in a net loss of fpps generally since at the moment even at a 6 handed table $1 in rake = 6 fpps, not to talk about 9 or 10 handed tables. While I'm all for improving the short handed situation, that method would result in full ring players having to pay double the amount of rake that they do currently per fpp. Surely the intent is not to make the situation worse for any one group but rather better for all.

Whatever you do, do not make a "bet pot"-button. Playing NL at Stars is more interesting than at other sites since the bet sized vary.

I know this will never happen but I might as well ask....
Raise the MINIMUM buyin for cash NL and PL games to 50BB at least. This gets rid of ratholing issues and the shortstacks that make the games insanely boring to play (yes they are still profitable, but it is not fun to do numerical gymnastics to bust shortstacks). Prior to internet poker, big bet games were uncapped and a 50BB minimum buyin was fairly standard. Capping the max buyin has done wonders for keeping the fish from going broke too quickly but there is no reason at all for the minimum buyins to be so low. |

I second HSB.
And hesitate to bring up less critical cosmetic issues (like PhattyLiver cards), but... Why can't we change deck colors independently, per table? Nice option for elementary multi-tablers. |
