IMPORTANT: For verification purposes, I'm going to request that ALL members with claims showing "Processing" at the time the site went down provide identification and documentation in order to verify your age, as well as the accuracy of your account information. This is to protect both myself and my valued customers from internet-based fraud.

This will go over like a lead balloon...hehe

Everyone - please cease the bickering and threats. It is not doing any good, and will probably only do harm. FON has asked for some additional time to sort this out, and he isn't asking for any time beyond what you would have waited to be paid initially. Threatening him and making derogatory comments does not move this any closer to resolution, all it does is make the road to resolution more bumpy.

If his first decision was to take the money and run, I think he's received enough information at this point to reverse course, pay everyone, and save some face by blaming it on the broker.

If his broker screwed him over, and his only error in judgment was to try to fade into the sunset without an explanation, he's already said that he will be verifying that the broker was paid, and promised to pay if that is the case.

In either case, I think he is starting to understand how important it is to him and his future to get this resolved in a fair and legal manner. Let's give him the time to do so.

If and only if FON decides not to meet his contractual obligations, there is always time to file suit later. I think I've counted at least five different states so far in this thread where suits would be originating from, and I can only guess that a horde of non-payees will descend upon the forums after Oct.20 asking where their payments are if things go sour, bumping that five up to 15 or 20. Let's avoid that if we can, by giving FON some time to resolve the issues.

--

FON -

Hopefully you are noticing that the more information you are giving out, the more understanding people are becoming. In light of that, could you please answer the questions I asked earlier?

[ QUOTE ]

As previously stated, if I am able to recover commissions for leads generated this month...all processing claims will certainly be paid (assuming it is decided that doing so would not be in breach of the new Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act). Perhaps helping me recover the commissions would be more beneficial than trying to do whatever you can to ruin my life?

Jibba - I'm assuming the response from SIA means that the broker was paid for the lead(s). This is good news. However, please note that I *DO NOT* have a direct agreement with Sports Interaction and therefore have not discussed the issue with them.

If you all could allow until the 20th before filing suit or taking whatever action you feel necessary, this would certainly give me the time to a) verify that the broker was in fact paid for the leads, and b) verify that I would not be in breach of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act by sending payments.

[/ QUOTE ]

FON, this is a good idea. What can we do to help you recover the commissions? Can you share with us the broker information, so that we can help you? It is in our best interests to see that you are paid, if you can share this with us, we can probably help.

If you want to give it a try by yourself before bringing us in, I completely understand that as well.

[ QUOTE ]

Right now I'm just trying to verify that the broker was actually paid, which shouldn't be very difficult. If he was...I don't think I'll have any problem recovering my September commission. This actually does affect some offers other than Sports Interaction, but, generally speaking, just the ones with larger deposit requirements ($200+). It seems that distributed amongst the hotheads we have some very well educated people here, so if I need help, it's great to know I have some backing here. Just give me a few days people.

I'll admit that I made the mistake of thinking just disappearing would be ok...but as mentioned above I just couldn't live with that...which is why I came back in an attempt to explain the situation.

[/ QUOTE ]

I (and I hope others) am more than happy to give you a few days. Please let us know what we can do to assist. Please keep us updated as well - I think the last thing you want is for people to think you disappeared again. Something as small as a daily update post of the current status (what you have done, what you have found out, what you plan to do next) would probably go a long way towards diffusing some of the hostility in this thread.

Everyone makes mistakes, and I think that I am not alone in saying that it was a very good idea of you to own up to yours and try to set things right. I realize that it is very difficult to do that in an environment as hostile as this one.

I hope this gets resolved quickly and amicably, and I look forward to reading your updates as the situation progresses.

To be fair, you shut down your webpage with a fake error message

[/ QUOTE ]

There is no "fake error message." I see what you guys are talking about, but apparently it is actually the default error handling on that account. Type in any address on the domain and you will receive the same error. This is not my doing.

chigger - All claims which we "processing" at the time the site was taken down will be paid (assuming the outcomes of (a) and (b) in my post above are favorable).

[/ QUOTE ]
That's garbage.... my claims were balked at with vague "please resend your receipt" messages for a month.... so of course they never made it to "processing".

So you were just going to bail without checking to see if he was paid? This makes no sense.

chopstix - I'll try to keep you all updated. As of now I'm simply waiting for a reply from the broker, but until then I'd appreciate it if you all could just sit tight. He's a good guy, maybe there was just some miscommunication somewhere along the line.

There is a total of 6 Sports Interaction and 1 Captain Cooks Casino manual credit requests still pending. I'm unsure what the result of these requests will be as both advertisers have entirely halted their affiliate programs, but any approved requests will be followed by payment via your requested payment method.

This doesn't answer my question. Why are you not planning to use a portion of your profits from the past year to pay people in the event that SIA doesn't pay you?

(assuming it is decided that doing so would not be in breach of the new Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act).

[/ QUOTE ]

So, if you get paid and paying is in breach you will simply keep the money and not pay? Hopefully, you'll turn yourself in to the big, bad government.

This is a ridiculous statement. You agreed to pay people $x for signing up for site XYZ through you. They already held up to their end of the bargain. Getting the commissions is your job.

That's weird b/c Captain Cook's is currently one of Boogster's October promotions --

"We've lowered the wagering requirements for Captain Cook's Casino down to $500 wagered in the casino. We've also increased the boogster points awarded for this site to 12,000. Sign up today for this hot casino promotion. Offer expires on October 31, 2006."
