SSNL is all about learning the basics of NL and hand reading, rather than the absolute levels of the blinds. Maybe the range we put villains on changes somewhat as we move up the levels, but also it does depending on whether villain is solid, wild, a fish etc., so whilst the analysis might change a bit, the nature of the questions and thought processes within the SSNL forum are similar across the majority of the questions- what does he have, how do i best play against that?

Contrast that with MSNL where this is more of a given, and the analysis seems to be more about when and where to make moves, good times for bluffing etc. I don't see that a split in SSNL would really give rise to 2 forums with different content, so I don't see the need.

Bro, NL25 and lower is NOT about hand reading, at least not compared to NL50 and up. How are you supposed to read hands when half the players are 40/5/.5?

I played 3 tables of 200NL yesterday. My first (moving up).

No less than 8 players across 3 tables had stats like 55/8/2.

Many posters kid themselves about the level of play at NL100-200, I think. The good players are way better, sure. But the bad players aren't any better (nor do their hand ranges narrow much), they are just more aggressive (but mindlessly so).

Maybe it's a PokerRoom network thing, though.

Definitely is sir. I tried 200NL 5max at Pokerroom....omg. So aggro, people will call 4xbb pf w/ K5 o and call down all the way with a pair of 5's....its super retarded. Fulltilts avrg 200 player is quite a bit better than their 25 players, who seem to be on par with the PKR 200 lol. However im beating it for 25PTBB right now so yay for me.

I would ask the forum mods to continue to work to get the MSNL and HSNL players to post here (the Well comes to mind) as their advice is definitely coveted by a player such as myself.

You guys keep saying this, but posting in SSNL is not a high priority for these guys. THere is a search function and archives. Read up on top players in strategy threads. A few of them even used to post in the small stakes forums.

Start by reading every strategy post that MDMA has ever written. Now repeat for El Diablo, riverboatking, fimbulwinter, thebruiser500. You get the idea.

Understood Isura. My only point was its not always easy to apply their advice in a NL 2000 game to a NL 100 game. Players certainly make different moves in those games than they do here. Its really educational to see them comment about a hand here at these levels
Certainly they are under no obligation to post here but its nice to see them give something back to the forum (aba's student comes to mind). All I was saying is that if you guys continue to ask them to do so it would be appreciated. Thats it

Yes, I understand, and I would also be happy if these guys would pop into SSNL once in a while. But for most part, the archives is the best we can do (and it's pretty damn awesome that 2+2 saves archives). Some of the info in there is really cutting edge hasn't been written anywhere else.
