You would think that the quality of play at the WSOP would have improved with the rise of poker knowledge through poker books like Harrington's and internet sites like this one. But it just seems to me from reading reports from the WSOP that most of the field of the WSOP are donks (like 70%). Am I wrong? Reading the post about the 5 4 it makes the WSOP seem like microlimit or a low sitngo at party poker or pokerstars. [/ QUOTE ] Negreanu stated in his videoblog that this is the biggest donkfest he ever witnessed. |

[/ QUOTE ] I can't tell you how many times I've seen hand reports where a pro bet big or got all-in with the best of it by far, and basically read their opponent perfectly, then got sucked out on by someone who could have beaten little more than a bluff before the turn/river. |

Chris 'Jesus' Ferguson raised, and Mark Vos called. The flop came A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 10[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Ferguson checked, Vos bet 13K, and Ferguson called. The turn card was the J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Ferguson checked, Vos bet 15K, and Ferguson called. The river card was the 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Ferguson moved all in for 20K, and Vos folded, showing the J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] for trip jacks, but not revealing his kicker (it was the K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]). Ferguson mucked his cards as he collected the pot, increasing his stack to 90K. Mark Vos dropped down to 57K. nice laydown nit [/ QUOTE ] Where's your bracelet? Jesus confirmed he had Aces. Who's the nit now? |

Still in. 55k. Tought day, but I am on to Day 3.
I talked to Jason and he seems like a nice kid. Stoked for him with his big stack. |

Started the day with 57K, finished with 59K. Woot. Congratulations to UCLA and Strasser, both had great days and seem like nice guys who deserve their success.
Tournament report coming hopefully tomorrow. Annie Duke to my immediate right at new table. |

Just got back to my hotel room. I'm still around with about 78K in chips. I was up near 175K at my highest point today, but then basically nothing went my way during the last one and a half levels, including the very last hand of the day which went like this:
Blinds 600/1200/200. I open for 4K in CO. Tight BB makes reraises 9K more. I call and see a flop of 972r. BB pushes for 90K and I fold obviously. He shows QQ. Average stack is now at 77K, so I'm doing alright with 50 BBs. I got a really good Day 3 draw (no big names, and I'm only 3K behind the leader at the table, so I'll be able to push people around on the bubble). Also, if anyone cares.... the first poker article about me: link |
