Default Re: Official SB Fantasy Football League - sign up details + rules debate

I participated in 4 Fantasy Leagues two years ago. I wanted every single player to perform well, and every single player to perform poorly.

Well, its not looking good for Yahoo online draft - i've been checking frequently but no times past 5pm CST have opened up for tomorrow. But I'll keep checking.

Also the general consensus doesn't seem to be to move to Fanball.

So we'll stay with Yahoo and plan to do an offline draft at the regularly (previously announced) scheduled time tomorrow / thursday. I'll send everyone reminder PMs tomorrow morning.

The problem with an offline draft is that everyone has to be present and accounted for or we can't draft. not a bad thing if everyone is there obviously.

We'll either draft through this forum, or a live chat mechanism (if everyone has / wants to use Instant Messenger, or IRC) or I'll see what other options I can find tonight / tomorrow.

It will be extra work for me, but I can handle it.

I did find good news re: yahoo: if you buy their stat tracker add on, it works across multiple leagues as long as they're under the same ID, up to four leagues. So if you're in the $200 and $100 for example, its only the one $9.99 charge for live stats for both leagues.

Also, I've updated the number of participants. $50 Veteran is now closed, we got our 10th there. We still have a couple last open spots if anyone still wants in, or knows anyone else they can ask who might want to come in.

Have you considered just making a forum thread for each leauge and doing picks that way? You give the order for the picks and prompt each person. It may take a little while, but it is surely the easiest in terms of showing everyone's team and fitting into everyone's scheduale.

Yeah that's the fallback plan. Ideally with instant messenger on top for people that have that.

We'll figure something out, i'll look for some more options tonight.

I'd be fine with a chatroom like AIM. It seems like a good way to be able to hold the draft whenever we want.

Also, I just noticed Rookie is listed as "League Full." Why is that? If you get $25 from two out of the three listed as unpaid, that would be 10, which seems like it would work.

Thanks again for organizing things.

I've never used an IM program. If thats how we go I need help setting it up.

I also may not be ready exactly at 9:30 pm. I was kind of hoping I could go in and rate the players in Yahoo in advance so if I missed a round or 2 I would be OK. Off line will be a challenge. If there is no list of available players to pick from be prepared for. "I take Hines Ward". No, sorry team X picked him 2 rounds ago. It happens a few times at every live draft Ivee been in.

I thought of that too, but it doesn't seem like such a disaster as long as we have a plan for it.

You're right - I'll take signups in pairs on those leagues that are marked as full, if we can go from 8-10 or 10-12 that's fine.
