[ QUOTE ]
It's the very fact that redheads are not all that common that makes them better. I can walk down the street in Philly any day of the week and see several hot blondes or brunettes. To see a fine, fine redhead in that mix is not only ultra-rare, but when it happens, she usually blows away the blondes and brunettes in the crowd, and by a fair margin. [/ QUOTE ] This n00b knows his stuff. |

[ QUOTE ] 3) Parents should never put their kids in daycare. [/ QUOTE ] Why? [/ QUOTE ] People that choose to have kids should do so only if they can take care of them. Children should not be raised by strangers. These are the most formative years of their lives and rather than getting the attention they need, your child will be one of many, and the amount of interaction and necessary stimuli will be greatly diminished. Even if you have a nanny that raises the kid 1-on-1, i still think that its a huge problem for a child to spend the majority of their time during these early years with a stranger, no matter how loving or caring they are. This is the time for the parent and child bonds to form. People that have two parents working 9-5 or more and dropping there kids off from 830-6, monday through friday, are not raising children, they are borrowing the day care's children for weekends at the beach. note: i understand that some people cannot afford to have only one income and still provide for even one child. this, however, is something that should be dealt with. obviously compromises can be made and daycare can be acceptable for a day or two a week, but for the parents to have identical work schedules 40+ hrs per week and drop the kids off at daycare is insane. |

I think I'm one of few people who calls it both "pop" and "soda," depending on sentence context. I don't know exactly when I use which word, but I do know that I use them roughly the same amount. "Coke" is the worst of the three and should never be used by anyone ever. Not a totally unpopular opinion, but a contentious one.
"A Link to the Past" is the best Zelda game, "Majora's Mask" sucked royally, and "Wind Waker" was very good. Many of Dean Koontz's books are entertaining pop-fiction reads. Friends was a good television show from seasons 2-4 and parts of 5. I do, however, hate the other seasons roughly as much as most people hate the show in general. Veronica Mars > Lost (it's main time-slot competitor last season) and Buffy (the show it's most often compared to). Common and Talib Kweli didn't fall off as hard as many people (aka, Dids) say they did. "Lifted," "Fevers and Mirrors," and "I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning" by Bright Eyes are very good albums despite being incredibly emo. Bob Dylan's best album is "Blood on the Tracks." |

More deadly diseases, natural disasters, and wars might be good for the sole purpose of slowing down our current exponential population growth.

television is a waste of time and has done more to damage arts in our society than anything else in the 1900's.

Religion is an intellectual crutch that is only good for instigating wars and unhappiness.
If you don't favor allowing gays to marry, you're probably a bigot. Denying someone the right to burn a flag is completely contrary to everything this country should be about. Men age better than women. Too many couples have children. This planet does not need more people, and many couples think they have to have kids because they're married. |
