Random stat: The chances of Jerry Yang winning each of the four all-ins he was involved (calculated at the time the money went in) is 8%.*

* Actually, that figure is a bit off since I used the EV as the chances of winning -- in his A9 vs A7 hand there was a significant chance of a split pot. So his odds of winning outright each of the all-ins was slightly under 8%.

khan had 9 million starting the hand right ? he raised to 6 million ? Why wouldn't he go all in in the dark, should he wait for the flop to push to gain any fold equity from yang ? No way u should fold to any flop yourself so is there really any FE if u push the flop? What am I missing here.

[/ QUOTE ]

you're not missing anything:

- he should have just went all in preflop
- since he didn't, he's not folding any flop
- going all in in the dark vs. waiting for the flop to shove makes no difference in terms of EV, FE, anything

[/ QUOTE ]

So why is everyone screaming terrible play all in in the dark.

Yang isnt folding anything at 1-6 pot odds, give it up folks, he was basiclly all in and called pre flop and lost a coin flip .

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes, so the mistake is not getting it in preflop.

Can someone relay the action on Rain's bustout plz?

[/ QUOTE ]

Lang raises to 1.5 from MP, Rain in SB re-raised to 6 leaving just over 3 behind. Lang calls after a while and Rain announces he is allin on the flop in the dark. Flop is king high and Rain has AQo and Langs JJ holds.

Yang understands pot odds about as much as the English language...and yes he could have been folded out on that flop with a little acting like I said earlier

Unless Yang, getting the worst imaginable flop, somehow finds a fold for 3 mil into 16 mil. Its not impossible, and it doesnt impact the EV (as long as he also finds a fold when it comes A or Q high) but it does probably decrease his chance of being eliminated.

[/ QUOTE ]

he's less likely to find a fold on a bad flop if you just shove blind than if you wait to shove
