Mike Myers has been designated for assignment according to Peter Abraham. No word yet on who will replace him. The timing seems right for Joba since he got a passport last week and they go to Toronto tomorrow.

Now if they'll only replace Farnsworth and Bruney/Karstens with Edwar and Britton the bullpen could be in good shape.

Also, Giambi is on his way to Toronto but might not be activated until Tuesday. It had better be Cairo, not Duncan that he replaces on the roster.

its so obviously going to be duncan... i don't really mind it that much tho.. get him some regular at-bats for a few weeks until sept. 1

Also because the way options work.

I think they'd basically have to cut their veterans, where as Shelley has options and can just be sent down.

Newsday is reporting that Jim Brower is being called up to replace Myers. lol if that's true. He's been good at Triple-A this season, but he's still Jim Brower.

Torre probably pushed for another veteran in the bullpen.
