So according to WSEX everyone that dumped Pickler bought Elliot and Chris? Taylors value dropped with all of that money moving around?

Alright, AI is down to 5 and they will be singing multiple songs each show from here on out. This changes the dynamic a little bit and I think it significantly helps one Idol, and could be a boon for 2 others.
Chris--IMO, Chris is going to be helped the most by singing 2 songs in a night. He has really been the only one left who has attacked different styles of singing. He has a big strength in the type of rock music he sings, and that basically got him this far. He is very good at it, and the voters seem to like him for it. He also showed this week that he can hammer home a rock ballad. If he picks a decent song that shows his rock strength and then croons some slow song and gives it a little Chris edge, he should sail through to the top 2 as he will show the most diversity from here on out if he's smart. Elliot--He can also be helped with two songs here. He's basically just a big voice guy and he should stick to that strength, but he has the most potential to have a "moment" of all those left, and now he'll have two chances to do it. This week his performance was half-pretty good, half-awesome. If he can put one song together for each of the next two weeks, and he'll have two shots to do it each week, he can be in the final three easy. He's really seemed to tone down the try-to-hard nerd act, and now seems more of an amusingly goofy underdog the last few weeks, and that's good for him. Taylor--He can also be helped by singing two songs. He is more of a stylized performer, and for some that could be bad as they are tired of the act they will now get to see twice a night. He was poor this week, but is the only Idol left that hasn't been in the bottom group yet, so he's got a base. All he needs is to recreate that "Levon" feeling from earlier in the season, put one song together out of four and knock it out of the park, and he's final three as well. Paris--I can still envision scenarios where Paris ends up in the final two. ie. Kat sucks next week and goes and Paris picks up some only-girl-left votes; then Elliot goes; then Taylor/Chris; and Paris slides into top two ala Diana D. Things would have to align for her with Kat going next week though probably for that to happen. I'm not sure how singing two songs will help Paris. I think she may be able, aside from Chris, to show the most variety in a two song set, and that could help her. She's going to have to do real well though each song as her margin for error isn't that great. If she avoids the Beyonce/hooker mode, and sticks to good-girl stuff, that'll surely help. Kat--Multi-songs may hurt her. She has a great voice and can wear great clothes (which is no doubt worth a few points), and when on her game, she can belt out a great tune. But, when she is just OK, which she has been much of the season, she seems to be a bit of a boring, one-trick pony. And even though she'll be singing two different songs, they have the potential to sound exactly the same coming out of her. --aj |

Yes, a good night for Katherine and the people that hold her. I don't think anyone around here thought she was getting enough votes to be top 2. Certainly not a definitive sign of support, and yes she could go out in the 4 spot, but still I think the fact that she may have been the vote leader (probably 2nd) qualifies as a good night.
I don't think there is any significant evidence that when someone is voted off, their fan base immediately picks up a different torch and hammers the phones for them. I think it's more probable that the vast majority of them continue watching, but quit voting. |

[ QUOTE ] BTW, apparently dialidol pretty much blew it this week. [/ QUOTE ] They were off with Kat. Everyone else was within range. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, dialidol really blew it, considering they predicted that either Pickler or Paris was going home, and OMFG they were right! |

I enjoyed Kelly, and unlike a lot of you, I never thought her act was a fake. She seems like a sweet girl.
Everyone on here is saying Kat is in trrouble, but I don't see it. She is my pick to go all the way. The girl will be at least as big as Kelly Clarkson. She's got it all. no way in hell Paris or Elliot win, and while I believe Chris is the dark horse, I don't see America voting a rocker #1. Taylor has fans but the guy is a barroom singer. That's all. No one's gonna buy a Taylor album. His voice is unremarkable if you take away the visual of him spazzing on stage. Anyway...here's how I rank them: Kat Chris Elliot Paris Taylor |
