After just reading the timeline on NYTimes, I have a question: did these guys think/assume that these "dancers" were there to have sex? I would think so at $400/hour each. So it sounds like they started out dancing, and then the guys were wondering "ok, where is the sex part?"
Of course, this brings in another twist - prostitution. Could the stripper have thought sex wasn't part of the deal? How does it affect the rape charges if she was performing an illegal activity anyway? |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Sounds like someone has made up their mind pretty quick, and without seeing any actual evidence either! Either you have super mind reading powers, or you are going off your misogynistic and racial biases. [/ QUOTE ] Or I was once falsely accused of rape and it has impacted the way I look at rape claims. Fortunately, I didn't have to deal with an overzealous DA who was running for re-election and desperately needed to get black votes. [/ QUOTE ] Great, so because some chick cried rape on you we're all allowed to rape strippers now? Awesome! Thanks bro! NT [/ QUOTE ] Its not over. I lost my remote and saw Rita Cosby Live, anyway she said the girl was raped with a broom and thats why no DNA was found. They made some interesting points. They said it was unusual for the defense to give the DNA results, but not let the media actually see them and everything that was in them. |

Well it all worked out well for the DA, he managed to gain enough attention for himself to win re-election. Hopefully, he'll actually have some interest in the facts of the case now.

Virtually every single legal analyst/lawyer/fomer judge/etc. I've heard on TV says there is virtually no chance of a conviction (at least of those 2 guys we knew about)
I never underestimate the stupidity of a jury though. I get the feeling the real goal is a lawsuit against Duke University, which they will probably and sadly settle out of court, cha-ching. |
