How the hell are you going to catch up with Hillary? Things look bleak; better start robbing banks, it is only way to keep up with the Clinton's.

Doesn't the Democratic candidate always out fundraise the Republican one?

Not in the last two elections.

If I'm selling a delicious half-pound burger made of sizzling fresh kobe beef, I don't necessarily need to worry about out advertising McDonald's.

OK which one of you was the wizard?

Wizarding is only a part-time job for me, I guess I forgot to make that clear on the form

We're gonna need over 1.5 mil in 2 days to reach the 4 mil goal.

Here's some extra motivation:

Get your zip code on the map!

I really think the November 5th thing is just killing the October total.

On the bright side I expect a last minute bump from end-of-the-month paychecks (like mine).

[/ QUOTE ]

I saw an article a couple weeks ago where someone from the official campaign stated that the fundraising goal was $3 mil for Oct, $4 mil for Nov and $5 mil for Dec. This makes much more sense than a flat $4 mil each month and still adds up to $12 mil.

They originally put up a 3 million liberty at the beginning of the month but quickly swapped it out for the 4 million one. I really think they would've made 3 million if they had that one up.

If the "money bomb" yields anything over $2 mil they will be well on pace to exceed the $12 mil goal.

Ok, guess I had it backwards. Still, Hillary's head start is tiny compared to those numbers.

As it stands, they'll probably come real close to 3 mil anyways. If the mini goal had been within closer reach, I agree you'd expect a surge, but a lot of the additional donations would simply replace donations that those people would have made at a later date. Plus it's hard to say what incentive the higher goal had earlier in the month, so maybe if it had been 3 the entire time, we wouldn't necessarily be so close to 3 right now.

Ultimately it's just really hard to speculate how potential donors will react to certain declared goals, imo. I think 3-4-5 makes more sense from an internal perspective, but to use that as your stated goal is sort of odd in that it might convey "eh, this month isn't as important as the next one." I think keeping them all at 4 is probably the better play.
