Yeah I'm loving the beginners section, some really really bad players. So loose as well. I can see some bad beats coming though.

Misplaying quads is a negligibly small mistake, but slowplaying too much can be a pretty big one, since you're likely to be slowplaying much more often than when you just flop quads. Play your hands fast, especially in multiway pots. If there are lots of donkeys willing to enter pots with you, as was the case in this hand, there are going to be one or two who'll eagerly call your bets with Kx, 66, Ax, 56, 92, or whatever.
Actually, I was talking w/ Nfinity the other day. He was playing on UB, and some table coach chewed him out for playing flopped trips fast. The TC didn't make him for trips because he played the flop fast, and consequently the TC put in way too many bets with whatever he ended up having because he didn't put Nfinity on trips. Been playing for about a year and half and have progressed from 5c/10c to my current level, 1/2 full. All other levels I think I played an average of 7k hands each. I now realize that was hardly enough, but I wound up beating .50/1 for 8 BB/100 at 5k hands and thought I was hot shiznit. I am now at 30k hands for 1/2, 1 BB/100, and on my first bona fide -150BB downswing. Goddamn it hurts. I no longer think I am hot shiznit.
At my apex, I was up +450BB for the level and was thinking about 2/4. Thank goodness this hit now. That said, the downswing inspired me to start grunching. It's helping me to realize that yes, I have the fundamentals, but in the heat of the battle I often don't take the time to think my options through. I want this to make me a better poker player. It will. But dammit it still sucks. Am I a 2+2er now? Carry on. |

Rather than start a new thread to say this, I'll post it in here. The forum bug where a post times out and gets lost if you take too long to type it has now been fixed. You can take as long as you need to type something and it will be posted properly. However, using the back button still wipes your post. That's the thing our benevolent admins are working on right now.

Is there anyway of adding something that will indicate which threads we have posted in ? instead of having to search for our posts each time. |

[/ QUOTE ] This is an even more rampant mistake in 6-max than in full ring - I think more people limp AA than raise it. (Those same people crab in chat when they get cracked by someone who might have folded to a PFR.) I fastplay and I find no one believes me when I DO have a monster. I'm going to shed a tear when I finally have to play at a level where people routinely fold bottom pair to a turn raise. |
