All the Florida AD has to do is show this thread and I am sure others like it on other boards to Donovan.

[/ QUOTE ]

If Billy Donovan (or anyone else) succeeded here, the 2046-2047 UK team would play in the new, 30,000-seat Donovan Arena, in the city of Donovanville in Donovan County.

He is currently the second most popular coach at the University of Florida. (See also: Bear Bryant leaving Kentucky.)

Edited to add: If Donovan is UK's choice (which I think he likely is), UK WILL outbid Florida. Period. If he really wants to stay at Florida that much, why does he not have a contract for next season?

[/ QUOTE ]

Because you don't have any idea about what's going on at UF with Billy D? I won't say there isn't a small chance he could go to UK, but every factor besides stadium size leans other wise. Billy has always declined contract talks during a season and openly said he would wait until after the season to extend because he didn't want to get in the way of what the players did in coming back. Christie Donovan just said she would never go to Lexington and that Billy doesn't want to go anywhere. Obviously that isn't concrete or anything but Billy has openly talked about the pressure at UK and has said he doesn't want any part of it. He's also mentioned the arena isn't a big deal and we have one of the best practice facilities. We just did a lot of upgrading despite that. More is coming. I would also say that UF will match any UK offer financially speaking.

Patrick Patterson isn't going to UK now that Tubby is gone.

You're talking about Patterson I assume?

If you are:

1) He likely wasn't coming anyway.
2) His comments indicate he still is considering Kentucky and waiting to see who the new coach is.
3) I don't get the extreme hype, I mean, he isn't even a top 10 player in this class.
4) I would trade Patterson, or this entire class for that matter, to be rid of Tubby. Hey, our 2007-2008 junior class has 0 players, and that's WITH Tubby!

If Donovan does decide to stay at Florida, his job just got a bit harder now that Tubby is gone.

And the '96 team was only the best team in college basketball history (IMO).

[/ QUOTE ]

A huge number of teams, including Duke '92, say hi.

That's ok I just want Billy, she can stay in Gainesville.

I'm sure UK boosters would gladly buy her a million-dollar home on Aruba or somewhere if this was a legitimate obstacle.

Yeah, sorry about that. I'm tired.

1 & 2 totally contradict themselves.
3, then why are you responding about him so in depth? He's a big recruit for UF which is why I posted about it.
4, his recruitment has nothing to do with Tubby leaving but I get what you're saying.

Obviously his job was getting tougher regardless.

Right, obviously it doesn't seem like an obstacle to an outsider, but it's just a feel thing from my end. Their family is huge in the community, love it here, helped bring Urban here, etc. Her opinion matters, trust me. Billy D does not want to be going through a ton of jobs. Rick has told him to stay at UF a few times and not go through all of that.

'92 Duke needed a miracle shot to beat (far less talented) '92 Kentucky if I remember correctly.

'96 Kentucky roster is objectively superior to '92 Duke roster IMO, although I realize more goes into judging the quality of a team than that. It will be very hard to convince me there was ever a better team than '96 UK. '96 UK flat annihilated folk. It didn't play close games.

No they don't. I am unlikely to attend X school for my MBA but I am still considering it.

Because I've been inundated with hype about him on UK message boards against my will. He's a big recruit for any team, but it's not like anyone is a program-breaker, even Oden/Durant. No recruit is - it's college basketball. Any program can be totally rebuilt in one year. (See: tOSU.)
