""I was watching a playoff game involving the Orlando Magic some time in the late 90's and Danny Schayes, who was averaging about 3ppg at the time but still the type of player Walton loves to go on about, hits his first two top of the key jumpers. Walton comes up with this,""

"...In order for Orlando to be successfull tonight the offense MUST go through Danny Schayes"

[ QUOTE ]
I Lawler but it would've been cool to see a crazed, homer Walton call Clips games.

[/ QUOTE ]

There was a period of at least a couple years on FSN broadcasts where Lawler was the play-by-play and Walton the color man. This was the greatest era of my life as a basketball observer.

A few Waltonisms not yet mentioned:
-Constantly saying "Shades of Kareem" whenever the Kandi man managed to make a hook shot.
-Mentioning like 3x a game how Loy Vaught was an all-time great.
-"Tractor Traylor, trying his best out there to EAT Earl Boykins"
and my personal favorite "WHERE would the Clippers be without Sean Rooks?"

Just now on ESPN:

Talking about Mark Cuban "I'm a big supporter of that facial hair, Mark just looks great."

That was the gist of it at least.
