[ QUOTE ] Try looking outside the SEC, there are a lot of great teams in the country, and very few (1, maybe 2) are in the SEC. [/ QUOTE ] I can guaran-[censored]-tee you that MyTurn2Raise (and myself)watch way more college football than you could ever want to. I promise you. I'm also fairly confident in saying that because he does watch a [censored] more than you do that he KNOWS more than you do. LSU would thoroughly whip 7 of the 11 teams in the B10, would beat 9 of 11, and can play for 4 quarters with 11 of 11. The opposite is not the case for any B10 school. Ohio State would thoroughly whip 5 of 12, beat 7 of 12, and play for 4 quarters with 12 of 12. Ohio State, over 10 games, would not beat LSU, Auburn, Florida, Tennessee, or Georgia more than 5 times. [/ QUOTE ] dude, wtf? MT2R can fight his own battles, and he answered the questions that I had already. I don't know how you sneaked into this conversation, and I really don't care that you have watched more football than me. I never claimed to be an expert, and I never said that MT2R didn't know what he was talking about. All I said was that I didn't think he gave enough credit to Michigan and other teams outside of the SEC, and while I still believe that, I also now believe that he isn't just super SEC-biased, and it's simply a matter of us disagreeing. Also, watching more college football does not make someone an expert by any means. Lots of people are still dumb, and can watch football all day and have no clue what is happening. So I wouldn't use that as a crutch for why you know more than anyon else, and everyone who disagrees should shut up. |

[ QUOTE ] Top10 college teams (10/4/2006) [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Let me clarify. I am not speaking of 2006 alone. [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] "You're an idiot." [/ QUOTE ] [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, its a little confusing when you don't follow the entire conversation. I went on a weird tangent in this discussion. My team rankings in the poll were based on 2006 alone and Ohio State garnered my #1 vote. Maybe my statement "Let me clarify blah blah blah" during my tangent was weird and wrong. I'll admit that. Sometimes I don't explain my position very well at all. Forgive me. That being said, it's absolutely ridiculous to think that Ohio State (or ANY team ranked #1) has a chance to win 8/10 from other top 10 teams. The talent margins are simply not that wide. There is no way tOSU's talent is 60% better than Tennessee, Auburn, Georgia, and LSU. It's just not possible. Even after tOSU thumped an overrated Iowa team, I still think Iowa would win 3 on a neutral field. It's hard to quantify, though. Simply put, a #1 recruit is barely better than a #5 recruit. Only USC has recruited the talent to have a distinct edge over the field, but even then, it's not a 60% difference. |

[ QUOTE ] This finding isn't just limited to this year, either. Until they start playing a bit more outside of their backyard, I'm not going to give them a whole lot of credit. [/ QUOTE ] I agree the scheduling is strange this year, but UF goes back to a home/home vs Miami in 2008 to go with of course FSU. Tell me that's not playing outside your backyard. FSU OOC every year is tough enough as it is. [/ QUOTE ] Last I checked, Tallahassee and Miami are in Florida's backyard. |

Of the top SEC teams mentioned, tell me list how many tough OOC away games they've played in since 2000. Florida was about the only one really, when they played Miami. I think they've played them once, away, in that time. Someone else played a tough away game. Who else? Mind you, were talking about 4-5 teams spanning 6 years. Also show how often those teams played more than 4 away games the whole year in that span. Playing about 66% of your games at home, regularly, isn't playing out of your own backyard. Especially when the greater majority of OOC games are also at home. It's actually pretty advantageous. b |

But the other top SEC teams have pretty lame schedules when referring to OOC, especially regarding away games. b |
