[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] A major contributor to global warming is the increased use of asphalt. Stand in the middle of a football field on a hot day, then go stand in a parking lot. Same amount of sun coming down, much hotter on the asphalt. Multiply that by millions of parking lots, roads, driveways, side walks, etc, and their increased creation over the last 50 years, and hello global warming... [/ QUOTE ] I know deep down that this can't be right...but it makes sense to me. [/ QUOTE ] Don't fight your instincts, Dom. To some degree, the Urban Heat Island theory is correct. Scientists just aren't sure how much UHI effects the overall environment. Things that make sense, make sense. Urban Heat Island Effect |

I love this thread. My contribution...
I was just (this instant) placed on the earth. My memories up until this point were 'faked', inserted in to me. Nothing previously has happened. |

When I first saw "Freddie Got Fingered" i theorized that Tom Green was just ahead of his time, and at some point in time the movie would actually be funny. I'm still waiting. [/ QUOTE ] You don't know funny. |

Letting people win is often more fun than winning even more so if you don't like them. [/ QUOTE ] This is brilliant |

People would be happier if they learned to be bolder and express their ideas on a whim, rather than only doing so upon being asked.

[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Aliens watch Earth. We are their reality show. They find our everday lives to be hilariously entertaining from world politics to that car wreck you got in last year. They don't dare contact us because that would screw up everything. [/ QUOTE ] have a similar theory: Our life/world is a game for a higher dimensional, more powerful race. They get points that they must divy up to create their character (looks, athleticism, intelligence, starting location, etc.) then this character is dropped into earth. However much the character improves (or worsens) earns (looses) you extra points to start your next character. [/ QUOTE ] Something like this, but rather the aliens are trying to build successful civilizations, trying to "win" by essentially constructing a better civilization than the others. They cannot interact directly, but can create/add things to help manipulate their civilization. Example: choosing certain religious systems over others by influencing their culture in a certain way. They master time dilation, and effectively their life spans cover the time it takes for several "earth" scenarios to play out, giving them practice and experience. Similar to you when you play the computer game "Civilization" on the computer. You're theory is equally interesting to me |

Don't remmber if this was already posted and i am not reading through to check if they where...
The average IQ is 100, most people (around 75%) are below that and there are simply enough smart people that are way above 100 to counter this effect (this is saying that the average is no both the mean and the median but simply the mean) That no one else is real when I don't have some actual contact with that person. Their entire life story and all actions halt when I am not consciously aware that they are alive... Only when I become in contact with that person do they actually have thier life story catch up with where my life story is at currently You can judge a book by it cover |
