dude, that shouldn't be stopping you. You are in NYC, the female/male ratio is awesome for guys. and tons of those chicks are small town girls who don't know anyone, this is where a guy like you comes in

[/ QUOTE ]

yeah, i know. my other worry is that im probably younger than all of them, the girls that are in my wheelhouse are in college. but i will try, theres obvs. nothing to lose.

you being 18 isn't gonna be a big deal. You can get into almost any bar. The majority of the girls just want a guy to talk to, and you possibly being one of the few people that they now know in the big city, and being a guy, you will be able to nail them. My friend, who goes to acting school right now, has taken advantage of that fact to his enjoyment since he moved up there from jersey

So, I decided to try a little experiment yesterday. I figured it probably wouldn't work, but I had nothing to lose. Worst case, OOT gets a laugh at my stupidity, but there might be something here.

I sent an Inside? to this girl named Kristina, and she didn't respond. No big news there, but I thought about trying again. She was pretty cute, after all. So I sent her another note:

[ QUOTE ]
It appears I sent you a rather cryptic message the other day. Well, I'm kinda new at this myspace thing (a friend of mine twisted my arm to get on. I still don't know what to make of it yet), and I think I bumbled my way into sending a message to the wrong person. I will neither confirm nor deny the influence of alcohol on my bumbling. Anyway, kindly disregard that odd note (although I do have to wonder what goes through a person's head when they get a note like that), and enjoy the rest of your evening.

[/ QUOTE ]

It's not all that great, but I was wondering if I could use this, or something like it, to salvage something. I think my experiment has failed, but I have a sample size of one. Anyone else want to try something like that on a few whiffed Insides?

If an "Inside?" fails, it's not because the message was cryptic. It was because she didn't like your profile. The whole point was to get her to look at your profile and start a conversation about anything.

I agree, you can't really do any harm by sending that canned response after a failed "Inside?". But I don't think it's gonna do much to help, either.

I had a random girl from NY ask me to add her. I'm her only friend. She has no info on her profile and doens't seem like she's spam.

I'm going to assume this is somebody from here [censored] with me until further notice.

what do you guys think? I've been working on this one for a few days. seems good so far.

[ QUOTE ]
I have been interested in Psychology since I was in middle school, but I started college out with hopes to be a zoology major... then when I started into it I realized all the zoologists I met, were a-holes & their lives are dedicated to begging for money to do a job that's rather demanding but pays peanuts... if your lucky. I realized that wasn't really my forte I didn't want to end up a bitter scientist. :-)

I tried Snowboarding 2 years ago. twice. It's tough to start out - it's an amazing work out (I can't remember the last time I slept so well as I did after my first day of snowboarding).

I have cousins & some friends out here, and I was wanting to travel a bit, so it just seemed to be an opportunistic time to experience life outside my normal bubble, you know what I mean?

So what keeps you in Oregon? Did you grow up here?

Cheers!

Taja

pschology that;s cool. is that something you've always been interested in? I went to OSU and liked it a lot you should have good time.

i'm a big movie lover myself and I try to read a lot. I really want to go snowboarding but I have to get around to learning first. I have much more free time now so I think this will finally be the year.

what brought you to Oregon?

Hey Jeremy,

Yeah I'm kinda new to this MySpace thing too, my friend set up the account for me & she's like "you have to try this." It's different, never really had anything like this in Australia but it seems like over here everyone here does this.
But yeah I'm a psychology major, I'm starting winter term it looks like, at OSU.
I do quite a bit of dancing for fun, use to do surfing but I'm feeling a bit leery of the Oregon Coast... too cold. But I really love music (like new music that hasn't really hit mainstream yet) and movies when I have a chunk of time to kill.
What about you, what do you do in this fine state?

Taja

Here's the latest updates on this one. I'm going to switch gears though and start being funny to see how that works. I get the feeling that she's not really that interested but at the same time she keeps writing. Thoughts? Start from the bottom

[ QUOTE ]
That's how my snowboarding trips have always gone.

Favorite music is hard to answer, I like a lot of different kinds, and there is a rarely a band that I am all for as there is songs that I really like (i'm always disappointed to listen to the album and find out none of the other songs sound anything like the one that I like... been common lately). But right now on my MP3 I have a lot of Punjabi which is like eastern indian hip hop kinda... it has really good beats to it and a lot of small up & coming bands like The Honorary Title, The Postal Service, Pitbull, The KO's.... things like that (indie rock i guess...). What's your listening pleasure?

Oh and as far as TV shows i'm your pretty standard girl, I love Friends & Sex in the City and oddly enough I'm a bit enthrawled with The Girls Next Door (reality show of Hugh Heffner & his women) and the other is called The Ranch or something (reality of the Bunny Ranch in Nevada) - those 2 are my guilty pleasures. And I can always get into a Law & Order or CSI but I try not to, once I start it I can't leave and that's an hour just wasted. I don't typically get a chance to watch TV though because there are so many other things going on & I don't invest in cable. How about you, any guilty pleasures in the TV catagory?

Cheers!

Taja

the snowboarding won't be till January sometime but if we end up becoming friends or what not then I definently will let you.

but as far as not being good I've never been and will most likely spend the time falling on my ass again and again. I can't really think of anything that would be more attractive than that

so tell me some more about yourself. what kind of music do you usually listen to? do you have a favorite TV show?

till then,

Jeremy

Yea, perhaps on the snowboarding thing. I haven't snowboarded since those last 2 times, and that was some 2 years ago. Maybe I have some how improved since then. Let me know when you guys are looking at going.
Yep sometimes home, is the only place to be. Kind of a security blanket in case everything else goes wrong at least you have that :-) Or at least that's how it is for me.

So far my day is going well, a bit chilly for my taste but all around not too bad.

Cheers!

Taja,

It's pretty cool you were able to figure things out and get into something you really love. Plus you're much to cute for a bitter scientist

I was just talking to my friend who is over tonight about going snowboarding starting Jan. He knows how and is going to hook me up with all the ins and outs. Perhaps we can get some friends together and go in large group sometime?

yeah I definently know what you mean about experiencing something new. I joined the army out of HS for some of the same reasons.

I moved to Oregon in the 5th grade and lived here ever since besides the Army. It's home I guess. I spent some time in Portland but in the end I decided I wanted to live close to my family. know what I mean?

how was your day?
