[ QUOTE ]

I might be on a wrong track here, but well .... (and there is some guessing and dancing, but it is all about estimating what range villian perceives you on and what ranges you estimate he is on)

[/ QUOTE ]

This is what I meant pretty much. What range do I think they have and what range do they think I have in this situation. But there are some players at NL10 that don't even do this. They just play what they got and pray it best while putting money in. So you can't be like I know they probably got top pair but they have to think my hand looks like a straight draw due to how I have played it and will fold once I bomb the straight card when it hits. I have found that about 50% of my opponents think enough to fold when I do this while the others don't. Of course the ones who look me up probably do so due to the inferior salesmanship of my hand. Ex. No one expects you to bet a straight draw here. So if I cbet then bomb a scare card they won't buy it lol. If I c/c them then raise or bet the scare card it works alot.

Btw when I play my best I feel as if I am dancing. Especially if I got a good phish show playin in my headset.

qfmft - i cant think of any other game/sport/endeavour where putting in so much work and effort can yield such a small edge that it can, and frequently is, negated by sheer variance.

I don't think it is as easy as that. If you can't beat the passive players then there's a huge chance that you are beating the aggressive players

[/ QUOTE ]

Kimo and I respond to Monks advice, which as I read it says, that once you've build up your roll and reached the usual you shouldn't move up but stay at the level and log a huge sample

But the fact that you've have the experience of building up a roll is there, and on this premise I feel you just should move up already

honestly, Idk why anybody would choose to play NL10 or lower. If you're busto in real life, well maybe there should be more important issues on your mind like working for a week and getting yourself a 25nl bankroll so you can move up and make more $$$$

It is sheer genius .. In the long run this edge will show but in the meantime it keeps mediocre players wanting to play with you

I can't imagine a 1300 elo player in wanting to play more than at most ten games for money against me ... but yet poker players that have the same skill disadvantage against me as that player have been playing 100NL againt me for ages.

I [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] variance (and the frequent whinners have no clue)

Any of you with money on absolute should read adanthar's BBV thread about AP. Not sure if he is leveling but doesn't look like it.
