I think he means small forward. GKA, elaborate on the meshing issue. [/ QUOTE ] Not sure how much I buy it. It used to be Doc's excuse for not playing Perkins and Jefferson at the same time. You need more "spacing," and don't want to clog the line for the guards to penetrate. Oden and Jefferson are both back to basket players, and most teams just like to mix a guy like Sheed/Okur/Odom/Dirk/Jamison at the 4 spot to leave the low post open for the 5 to operate, or vice versa. This is why if Durant can put on some muscle, and play the 4 like Odom, Rashard Lewis, or even a smaller Chris Bosh, it would be ideal. A Rondo-Green-Pierce-Durant-Jefferson lineup would be so awesome. (Some teams like the Cavs have their 5, Big Z, as the jumpshooter, and Gooden playing more down low). Very few teams have two pure centers playing together. Off the top of my head, Orlando plays Tony Battie and Dwight Howard, and I can't think of any others. Big Al really is not a dribble, jumpshot guy, and doesn't project to being one, which is why it would be tough to play them together. |

[ QUOTE ] And I read today on ESPN that Kevin Durant projects as a 3. [/ QUOTE ] Edit: I misread the post. I'm dumb. [/ QUOTE ] Ya position. I would bet my life savings on Oden and Durant both going in the top 2. |

I mean, you're basically saying that he had the presence of mind to be able to take a swipe at Manu's head in order to cause injury while: -Still in the air after a shot attempt -Not being able to see Manu -Being involved in a tie game with no time on the clock with a big conference rival [/ QUOTE ] You don't need any presence of mind to throw a reflex shot when you're pissed about getting your hero moment squashed. People throwing elbows and stuff out of instinct is how like half of all fights get started. Comparing the two videos, the one on Manu does look worse because of the time lag between his shot getting blocked and when he threw the hand out. That being said Manu is still a total bitch dropping like he got shot over a hand in the face. |

I can't say that he didn't intend to hit Manu, just that a suspension wasn't warranted.
On the whole Celtics debate, I agree that Durant is more of a 3. I can't really see him guarding any good 4's at the moment. At the same time, I think a team could easily play him at a 4 at not have any real problems. |

Arenas went back to the locker room mid-2nd quarter at Toronto. Wasn't sure if he was injured or what, nobody knew what the deal was.
Turned out he just had to drop a deuce. |

Mike Miller hit some insane shots against Dallas tonight [/ QUOTE ] The final score was a hell of a lot closer than the actual game, but Miller was pretty insane. |
