I've heard rumors that ManU is now being ran more like a business with a bottom line. May not be true though. I think we all can agree moving Ronaldo would be bad for ManU, but there could be an offer to good to pass up on. Maybe a trade with money attached?

Whose contract would be anywhere near as valuable as Ronaldo's?

If I'm ManU, I'm not considering giving up his contract for anything less than 125 million pounds. He's probably the best player in the world, he is without a doubt the most fun player to watch in the world, he's 21 and has yet to hit his peak and he's signed for 5-6 more years. He's also objectively good looking and the player that you would want as the face of your franchise.

I wouldn't flat out say that this team is old. While there is some serious age at some key positions, we also have a young strike force, and Carrick is fast proving that he is a rock in midfield and has quietly had a very good year so far. He may not score a boat load of goals, but his passing has been very key in transition and has been picking up balls left and right. He may not be as firey as Keane was, but look at how we've played with him so far this season, I sure have no gripes.

There is also a fair amount of young talent at the club, its just a matter of allowing them to break through. I really do believe that Kieran Richardson is gonna be a very good player once he gets some real playing time. Ben Foster has had a pretty damn good year all things considered on loan at Watford and will most likely be the one to take over for Van Der Saar. I also think that Bardsley is going to be a very good player too. I also don't need to say much about Rossi(and as long as there is no offical sale, he is our player). From there its a matter of then getting younger at a few other positions and we are in a great position again

KDawg,

In regards to Carrick. It looks like he started out very slowly but does seem to be playing better. What would worry me if I was a ManU fan is the age at several key positions. I suppose Giggs isn't too much of a concern because of Ronaldo/Park, but Scholes and Neville has to bother you. Central positions are key and without any real young replacement of quality, ya'll are [censored] unless you bring in someone really good, maybe via selling Ronaldo?

I would say for ManU, you guys need to go out and get some younng quality. As of right now, you look like a team that will definitely have some rebuilding years unless you become Chelsea v. 2. Also Rooney's skills seem to be suspect as of right now.

ya rly

the guy has become completely impossible to handle on the wing. he consistently makes premiership defenders look foolish, and premiership defenders are some of the most physical and aggressive defenders in the world. and now things consistently develop out of his trickery...his crosses are pinpoint, his field vision is amazing, and he's developed a knack in front of goal.

add to this fact that ronaldinho, sheva, and henry are all having off years to some extent, and there's very few players in the world who can compare with ronaldo. only drogba is close imo.

BTW the figure I just read in As is up to 50 million euros.

Does he have a transfer clause? This seems much, much more common in Spain where it seems like everyone has them. I think even the top players have them, they are just astronomical.

TSC,

Really now, how much more young quality do you want? There isn't any better out there than Rooney and Ronaldo. Add to the mix guys like Saha, Vidic, and Ferdinand, and you have the backbone of a very strong team for years to come. And if guys like Neville/Scholes/Giggs end up retiring ManU will either sign some young talent to replace them or promote good young talent from within.

FWIW, I don't think Rooney has been good at all this year. Other than the hat trick and the wide open net against Arsenal, what else has he done?

In regards to Ronaldo, our SB's basically made Ronaldo a non factor in last weeks game. He made some runs, but nothing really came of them.
