IMO, these prop bets (hand prop bets) are not so much a way for others to get rich than just a little extra motivation for fellow 2p2ers to log hands in. I personally think that they are a good way to help motivate a bit, and its purpose should NOT be personal gain for either party.

You should want to help a fellow forum buddy log some hands in. Granted, there may be circumstances in which player B may be unable to finish such hands. But be reasonable- there isn't any reason to be super greedy and spaz out. Perhaps I'm a bit partial to player B because he's my friend, but thinking about it now, I wouldn't really charge anyone the full $800 or what have you on nearly anyone on this forum.

[/ QUOTE ]

I guess I'm taking more of a capitalist approach to this (and fwiw, I'm friends with both people involved) but I think that there's no motivation for person A to let person B off the hook in a -EV manner. For one, doing so would mean that person B really doesn't have the motivation to get the hands in if he knows he can get out of it pretty cheaply. Another is the fact that person B could very well force person A to pay the full amount in the same spot, and person A would pay it.

So if person B thinks there's about a 20% chance that A puts in a marathon session to finish, then his EV in the spot is $800 and whether or not he wants to ask for less on a buyout depends on how much he wants to decrease variance.

[ QUOTE ]
Also if player B can 12 table with ease, this ones more a question of how much you want the money, and how much he'll jsut go ahead and spite complete.

[/ QUOTE ]

Arguably, making person B "spite complete" is doing him a favor and giving him the motivation he needs to play the 30k hands, which is the whole point of the bet.

Also, there should be future stipulations about the stakes involved, cause while tufat certainly can go 12-table 1/2 or .5/1 to finish the bet, that obviously isn't what was intended when the bet was made.

goofyballin' imo

I approve of this phrase spreading out among SSNLers.

beat: entered a $5 5seat sat into the 20k donkament, get to heads up, blinds still small. KT vs KK on 8ktt7 board. at least it happened in a $5 sat and not for stacks in a cash game

also ive come up with a way to calc the real +EV.

assuming 95% of the time im forced to do it, i complete.

thats 95% $0
5% $1k

so $50 in +EV. account for teh fact that i want to not do it, that we're relatively close to the end of the time frame and the pleasure sfc gets from making me play the volume, u see how its much closer to 234 than 800 for the line to be set for teh buyout.

my instincts for the buyout price imo are quite close, with the true figure around 280-350. pls come up with something else if this seems off.
