why was mota used over wagner in the 8th? is wagner not available?

[/ QUOTE ]

because wagner pretty much never pitches in the 8th.

[/ QUOTE ]

Which makes me wonder, would it have hurt to send Sele down and keep Joe Smith up? Lack of LR might have hurt but Smith would have been good in the 8th.

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm pretty sure Sele would have to pass through waivers in order to get sent down, and they'd risk losing him. Besides, Joe Smith has been terrible lately.

[/ QUOTE ]

Ahhh, right i remember hearing about that. I guess I just figured Joe Smith hitting a wall was gonna happen sooner or later. Bullpen doesn't look great right now though.

Wow, two walks here is huge.

Delgado is starting to make me think that Mike Jacobs could be an upgrade at 1B.

Alou raised his hand to call time...then was tagged. He had no part of him on the base. Yet the ump gave him time.

This is the msot frustrating team in baseball, no one else in sports ahs to put up with this [censored] yr after yr of never being able to drive a run in from scoring position EVER! EVERY YR NO matter who we sign, if we had 9 Babe Ruths none of them would ever get a hit when there was a man on 2nd! All they would do is walk, hit occasionaly homeruns, and ground in to double plays and win every game 2-1 and lose every game 2-1. Every god damn game!!! UGHH!

I actually told my mother while we were watching the game in the 8th inning that if the Brewers tied the game that the Mets would definately lose because I coudl tell tonight even if thsi game went ALL NIGHT the mets would never score. I just knew it. I said no matetr how good the Mets relievers are the Brewers would EVENTUALLY score. I called this in the 8th innign folks. No matter what this team gets, even if they get 11 straight balls they cant push a god damn run accros. I have to go to work early and i stay up late to watch this [censored], couldn't you [censored] ghave at least lost in the 9th?

Not too mention we have to go through the Tom Glavine going for 300 wins again!!! on Sunday! I can only take so much air time of Christine Glavine. Having to watch ANOTHER interview on Sunday night may kill me... Wtf was with that we/our [censored]? and lookign so depressed when the Brewers tied the game. You weren't even married to him for most of the wins, his 1st wife wasn't that upset I bet.

hey guys,

i wrote up some analysis of the mets' season on my blog: link.

it's fairly simple stuff if you're into sabermetrics, but i'd love feedback.

please ignore the first paragraph or two; that stuff's unrelated.

mods, sorry if this isn't allowed. thanks.

Yeah bullpen not a pressing need.

Who's the idiot?

[/ QUOTE ]

Niss,

This was a joke right? The bullpen certainly was not the issue last night. If the Mets can't score more than 2 runs in 13 innings in a game where Jeff [censored] Suppan starts then they don't deserve to win. Jenkins made sure that was the case. Speaking of Jenkins...there is just something about him that I can't stand. I can't place it...but I can't stand him. It's close to the John Rocker/Larry Jones level for me.

Mota really does suck ass though. He should start roiding again. At least that way he will get caught and thrown off our roster for 100 games.

I actually enjoyed watching Sosa pitch out of the bullpen last night. Yeah he did get himself into a big jam (thanks partly to Stonehands at first base) but he pitched his way out of it.

If/when Pedro comes back I wouldn't mind seeing Sosa pitch alot more out of the bullpen.
