How come it takes forever for the tables to be "updated"? Does it only update if it recognizes players in the PT database? On the website, it showed a screenn with like 10 tables updated within 2 minutes. Mine are like 5-10 minutes apart. [/ QUOTE ] Hi, Some users have reported this problem. In fact it looks like on some configuration, the database queries are extremely slow, and that's why the tables stats are not refreshed. I'm investigating this issue right now, and will try to fix that in the next release. |

The problem is scanning at lower limits takes much longer. (16-17 minutes at NL50).
But if you add minimum pot and number of players seated filters so that PTS skips them that should reduce the time somewhat. |

The issue with "focus stealing" thing is this : when the PartyPoker lobby window does not have the focus, it doesn't refresh the player list. That's why PTS keep giving the Focus to the lobby window, and so you'll understand that giving the focus for a fraction of seconds will not do it. PartyPoker just has to have the focus. [/ QUOTE ] Sorry, I didn't realize it only updated the lobby when it had the focus. [ QUOTE ] I don't how you guys are using PTS, but as far as i'm concerned, i am not doing an automatic scan permanently. What i do is : automatic scan of the tables at my level of play ( about 3-4 min ), choose my tables, play for 30 min, rescan the lobby, switch table if there is a more interesting table, play 30 min, etc... So this focus stealing is not much of an issue if you do that... [/ QUOTE ] I multitable 6max for 2-3 hours sessions at a time, so I never actually have a "downtime" every 30 mins or so; I usually just decide a table has gone bad and then go off looking for another and try to find a better table while I an still playing the other 4/5 tables... I think I have seen a way round this though: If I run a copy of Party and a copy of PTS in a virtual machine or on a another machine, then I can still leave PTS scanning the lobby continuously and then it can find the juicy tables while I play. So when I need a new table, I will just have to look at the names in the virtual machine (or via Radmin) and then open these on my play machine. I will see how I get on with this idea and report back. Juk |

Thanks ptssupport!
Juk, that idea almost screams for network support... Actually if PTS would simply maintain a list of green tables in a file, we could use AHK to open them on another machine! Well let's see how the hotkey approach works first.. |

Couple things, do you have any plans to raise the max number of buddies? Also, it would be really helpful if I could scan 2 limits at once.

[/ QUOTE ] Yes, this would be pretty cool. I have been trying (without success) to find a remote admin tool which works from one user area to another, but this idea blows it away. If the results are written to file then this will be amazing! Juk |

Juk;
I'm not sure if this is what you are talking about and all, but I did just think of a great idea(may be the same thing you are talking about) Perhaps having the owner of a site(or a volunteer) and the maker of PTS team together and have PTS owner give out usernames to log-in to the site. Have whoever runs the site start a remote program scanning all the tables, thus having them constantly updated, and somehow then updating them to the site...Then that solves the problem of having to have it update constantly, and instead I can just update the site, find the good tables, and start them up? Dunno if that's possible or if u guys are already talking about the same thing, but thought it sounded cool |

two questions for you
Can I use this for omaha 8? Do I need an existing database? ie, can I open five tables up, with NO information about the table, then say, walk away for an hour or two, and have it automatically find out the vpip, agg factor, etc? Or does it just read from any existing database? Since we can no longer mine party, it will be difficult for noobs like me to get a database which is useful, but if you can CREATE it out of nothing, consider me sold. |
