If anyone is watching Jim Rome right now - Adam Carolla is guest hosting. Throughout the the 6-8 minute intro where they touch on certain issues, he was trying to be funny and failed miserably every time.

Not really an entry, but his performance reminded me of this thread.

Jay Mohr had me laughing hysterically yesterday when he was talking about the disturbing Oreo commercial where the African-American grandmother and granddaugther have a cream-licking contest.

That was really funny.

It just seemed like Carolla had a schtick in mind going in that sounded a lot better in his head than it did verbally. After it didn't work, he just started bumbling around and taking it too far.

For instance... Joe Namath drunkenly hitting on Suzy Kolber, or Rush Limbaugh making racially motivated remarks on an ESPN sportscenter...

My favorite... last year Seahawks Vs Packers on Monday night football. Jimmy Kimmel makes an appearance in the booth and the first thing he says to Joe Theisman is, "Hey Joe, hows the leg?" I hate Theisman and you could tell he was steaming as he tried to play it off through a fake smile and joke, but kept mentioning it randomly throughout the broadcast.

[/ QUOTE ]

Man Theisman is horrible...but yea the joe namath video is obviously the winner here

[/ QUOTE ]

Joe's just a happy guy.

[/ QUOTE ]Oh boy, is he!

Carolla is real hit-or-miss. He's had some good Crank Yankers calls, and some awful ones. He shined most on "Loveline" with Dr. Drew, back when he could be the lewd pervert to Dr. Drews sincere voice-of-reason. He was awful on The Man Show, and got outshined by Jimmy Kimmel of all people.

Yah Carolla was fantastic on Loveline to the point where I was disappointed when the Man Show first aired. He's just a lot better ad-libbing than he is doing material.

Not sure if it's been mentioned, looked but didn't find the video.

Jim Gray's interview with Pete rose at the all star game a few years back. Pete get Honored as an all time baseball great and Gray takes the shot at asking Rose to admit he bet on baseball. Rose gets so upset.
