[ QUOTE ]
Regardless of the fact that the chances of him playing against himself are really small, I just don't like the fact that I have to play against 6 ZJ's in one tourney. You think the pros would want to play in a tourney where there were six Phil Ivey's??? Thank you Party, keep it up. [/ QUOTE ] This post should be stuck to the top of every topic that refers to this situation. Well said, sir. |

[ QUOTE ] If this is legit, wow. [/ QUOTE ] It is legit, ZJ was asked to leave Party Poker. He asked me not to tell anyone and I've respected his wishes. However, now it's out in the open due to this email. And yes, Mike O'Malley runs Party Poker. [/ QUOTE ] My guess is that Zee will get a new ip, a new computer, and open another account under a friend or relative's name and give them a small kickback for letting him play under their name. Easy enough to do. |

My point is more, that there is a monetary cost being paid. My more important point which i didn't communicate well, is I don't care if people do it that much in larger field tourneys cuz it pretty much only adds to the prize pool and nothing else.

i agree w/ everything in your post...except this i THINK you meant to say:
[ QUOTE ] I think he's a good kid he was just trying to maximize his winnings by clearly and unabashadly cheating [/ QUOTE ] this is not a grey area. playing multiple accts in the same tourney is wrong and its spelled out clearly. especially if you're an affiliate you know this. i have no feelings one way or the other about ZJ. i do know he can play poker well and i dont see why he would want to risk anything from a small probable gain by using 6 freaking accts. on that note, seriously, how many pets can 1 guy have... anyways, i still wish ZJ the best int eh future and have absolutely no ill will but i do want to be clear i think that anybody who uses multiple accts to play in a tournament is not in a blurry gray hazy area. and its not like they dont know. its cheating. they know it. they choose not to abide by the rules b/c they feel the likelihood of their getting caught times the punishment doesn't outweight their immediate gain times the probabilty of that gain. imo, thats a vast underestimation of the downside. How is this fair practice if it is not possible for someone like me with only one account to do it? I can only change my ID every 6 months. This is against the T&C, and it gives him an advantage I don't have.
I would report him, but I don't know what any of his account names are, and I assume he's a losing player anyway. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] http://grindblog.blogspot.com/2006/02/215-update.html "Competition is good and the hardest part is it is the same people over and over and over so I'm having to switch back and forth between accounts and mix up my game a lot." [/ QUOTE ] This sounds like playing 1 account at a time. Changing screenname/logins to prevent opponents from easily recognizing you seems like a fair practice. Party does allow you to change your handle every 6 months. Thanks for posting the link and quote. [/ QUOTE ] |

[ QUOTE ] can someone explain how you log on with 6 accounts on 1 computer? please dont give explicit instructions how to do it, but just give me a general idea. [/ QUOTE ] Cant help with the 6 clients from one pc question, but I can think of ways where you could play from 6 different pc's from one keyboard/screen. The 6 different pc's could be a mix of physical/virtual and theoretically those different pc's could be scattered around the world. [/ QUOTE ] I answered how you can do 6 on one computer a few posts back... |
