His wife had cancer and he was playing like ssnl. What a sleeez when you have a wife and kid let alone a family member with cancer. I previously played 200nl with him a few months back and thought he was horrible. I honestly would search his name and look for him at any tables.

Bottom line, him playing poker when he was never that good to begin with is just horrible. I even saw him play in $215 and 530 sunday million, which is a horrible idea, when the variance in that tournament is just extreme and most likely was not bankrolled for it. Its especially horrible since he has a family and his wife has cancer and they rely on him when he is not even good at poker. Get a job with benefits and steady pay.

I remember when the initial thread went out I was going to write something like, "man, this is a really bad idea vig. You don't reveal your wife's situation in BBV and u don't ask for charity on internet forums".

The thing is that the initial post was very heart -rendering thing and all the pictures and stuff really created a lot of sympathy. So I think GW shouldn't feel too bad, cause I think everyone was sort of fooled here.

You obviously aren't quite in on the bottom floor here. GILD CHECKED OUT ALL THE PAPERS, HE GOT PROOF THAT MRS. VIG HAD CANCER AND WAS ENROLLED IN THE SLOAN-KETTERING CLINIC FOR TREATMENT. HE DID AS THOROUGH A CHECK AS COULD BE EXPECTED. VIG WAS A FAIRLY REGULAR POSTER IN BBV WHO BRAGGED ABOUT HIS BABY ALL THE TIME (in retrospect this could have been a ploy to gain sympathy but I HIGHLY doubt it). HE WAS ON BBV AND 2P2 FOR A WHILE, HE DIDN'T JOIN JUST TO START A DONATION THREAD AND TAKE EVERYONE'S MONEY.

So next time, before you criticize someone, maybe you should know the entire story, you know so you don't sound like a moran afterwards.

Shaniac is right, this was a bad idea from the start, regardless of all that. I was all about the BG "lol donkaments" donations and helped out there, but I never for a second considered giving vig any money.

I'm pretty surprised that so many BBV'ers donated, but like Shaniac said, what's done is done and lesson learned.

yea it is pretty easy for people to come in from other forums who never read or post in bbv and monday-morning quarterback this situation, but this was a member of our community. It's easy to get caught up in the sense of community spirit and trying to do something good for a familiar face which a lot of people did.

Ah well, lesson learned. I think most of us would haveacted as Gild did in this case, so I hope no one resents him for it.

If it helps, guys, he [censored] up his relationship with hot wife and cute kid, has a gambling problem and loses at poker. He also spent alot of time and energy on this instead of just playing and making the money like a real 2+2er would. I think trying to get revenge on guys like him is kinda redundant [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img].
