everyone saying "omg go to the police!" how do you think grim has any way of proving that the money is his and not ricks? it is grimms word vs ricks, and grim's word sucks. grim is screwed. [/ QUOTE ] I'm sure Grim can produce witnesses that he had won the money, carried it out of the casino, had a laptop case, people can ID the laptop case, the cell phone number, etc. if he finds the stuff. |

[ QUOTE ] If there's a bunch of money lying around a shared room, how do you determine who it belongs to, esp if both are poker players? [/ QUOTE ] Are you serious? [/ QUOTE ] I'm quite serious. I sincerely hope that Grim gets his money back, but to an uninformed observer I don't see how the question of ownership is entirely straightforward. That said, I'm sure many people who have played with him know the circumstances and the there are plenty of witnesses, etc. My question was pretty general and is not intended to accurately describe the situation. |

Not that I know anyone involved in this story, no matter how indirectly ...
But the assumption that grimmstar is a complete innocent in every way and got taken by a conniving scumbag through no fault of his own and deserves our donations ... Sorry. I can't buy into this fable. Not to second guess any of you who may be friends or comrades of grimmstar, but why should 2p2'ers in general jump en masse one way or another ? We're poker players, right? Doesn't that imply a certain amount of street smarts, no matter our age? I wouldn't assume grimmstar is completely innocent in whatever went down, just like I wouldn't assume rick305 is completely guilty. In fact, I wouldn't assume anything based on what one person (anonymous to most of us) says on a public forum. Very few who have expresed opinions on this thread are reading it like the poker pros they are. |

I think the chance of it being true is 95%. [/ QUOTE ] QFT, Jason Strasser posted this as a rumor in an NVG post a few days ago. Others have corroborated surrounding details. If it's true: Grimm, what it do? Worst case scenario you're laughing about this one while kicking it in Monte Carlo a few decades from now when mini-grimstarr's ask for pappy to tell the one about the time where... If not, great setup, gg, see if it can hit 100000 views. |

I'm not giving one dime to Grimm - but to think that he's somehow involved in the theft of his money is patently absurd. Not only does online poker success have nothing to do with street smarts, it can be precisely because of a lack of street smarts that people get into it. I'm [censored] retarded when it comes to street smarts, and I imagine Grim is too - thing is, Rick didn't exactly strike me as Worm, either. |

Has anybody established whether or not that money can even legally be considered Grimstarr's in the first place? Considering he acquired it gambling underage, it seems to me that the same thing would happen here as what would happen if a 19 year old purchased (one way or another) the winning Powerball ticket: he wouldn't get [censored]
