Default NT now freezing NON-US accounts?

Just read something on Arnold Snyder's forum to the effect that NON-US based NT customers with DOLLAR based accounts are having their accounts frozen! WTF? Is this true?

Thanks

Here's the info for non-US customers . If non-US customers were making USD wire transfers, or transfering to US Banks, they are effected. (this statement was last updated, last week)

Sniper, thanks very much for your reply and link. I live in the UK and was just concerned that I'd have problems withdrawing to my bank account or funding my poker accounts. By the looks of it this isn't a problem, so thanks for putting my mind at rest.

At this point, I am actually shocked that a lawsuit (private or class action) has not been filed (either under UK law against Neteller, or against the federal government, if the US gov't is responsible for any seizures.)

The lawsuit against BetOnSports.com is fun to follow. We've gone from former CEO Carruthers getting in the face of American law enforcement and BetOnSports advertising in football parking lots to a fired Carruthers et al in contempt of court, BetOnSports delisted from the London AIM, BetOnSports threatening countersuit against American litigants and BetOnSports stiffing customers.

Give the Neteller saga time to evolve, I'm sure it'll be just as fun.

The people whose funds were frozen were not making transfers from US banks or USD bank accounts, so the Neteller statement does not apply. These are residents/citizens of other countries, who were transferring money to Neteller USD accounts from non-USD bank accounts outside the US.

Damn, this is exactly what I was worried about. If this is true I'm genuinely shocked. Why on earth would they need to do this? It smacks of desperation.

Radar, you say their accounts were frozen after transferring TO their USD NT accounts. Am I likely to have problems if I just withdraw my money to PokerStars or to my (UK based) bank account? I was going to stick with NT and see what happened, but now I just want my money out of there.

as someone who had not a dime in netteller, i just want to say that all of this is almost surreal...how are they getting away with this??

just letting $55 million sit in an account accruing interest, while the government basically allows them to do it...

Article from MajorWager.com. Says what we all already know but it's still a good read.
